Rob331 Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 So much depends in who Howie get resigned and it's a long list of free agents, a retirement and a maybe they bring him back- LB Baun and Burks DE Sweat and a retiring BG CB Roges, Maddox and will Slay be back DT Williams G Bacton T Fred Johnson RB Gainwell My guess at this point is the LB's return. Sweat stays,, BG does retire, Rogers stays, Maddox goes, SLay stays, Willams goes, Becton and big Fred stay, and Gainwell goes. 1 - DT Derrick Harmon, Oregon replaces Williams 2 - DE Jack Sawyer, Ohio State replaced BG 3 - TE Mitchell Evans, Notre Dame because Goedery is a question mark 4 - RB Kaytron Allen, Penn State replaces Gainwell 5 - CB Cobee Bryant, Kansas replaces Maddox 5 - LB Kain Medrano, UCLA for Van Summeran recovery insurance 5 - S Kendall Daniels, Iowa State because McCollum needs competition I know, "why nbo o-line?". Well we're pretty much set. Starters are in place expecially if Bacton comen back. Driscoll and Steen are good backups and if Big Fred comes back that's 8 provenoffensive linemen. Then there's Gates, Kinnard, Keegan, and Toth in the wings. With that group we gan wait a year.
Crazy Legs Posted January 2 Posted January 2 There are at least 15 players that could be considered questionable to make next season's roster. The reasons range from highly sought after free agents, under-performers, retirees and JAGs. This not so unusual. Our current roster contains around 20 players that never existed on our roster before 2024. Free agency has led to higher annual turnover as a result. I would like to see at least 3 or 4 of our FAs return next season. If Howie can continue his miracles via salary cap manuevers, trades, FA and the draft, we should still be in a good position to compete successfully next season. Next seasons's roster building doesn't commence until after the Super Bowl, so don't get ahead of your skis. If you have closely followed how the Eagles go about their business, you should have some feel for what areas will need to be addressed and what options are the most realistic to be accomplished. The 2025 draft will be a very important tool for the long-term future, but there remains alot of work that must undertaken first. Keep in mind also, that our recent drafts have averaged just a speck more than one immediate starter and at least one huge miss (Reager). P.S. Be thankfull, we don't have a meddling owner like some franchises.

Thanks for the input captain obvious. Do you have anything interesting or new to add? Might have been more informave if you'd also pointed out the Eagles have $30M in 2025 cap space and signing some of our own plus signing the draft class isn'r going to leave a bundle for free agent from othe teams. PS - Don't be a killjoy!

PS - Don't be a killjoy! Certainly, it was not my intent. Briefly, I was astonished by all that Howie accomplished in free agency last off season. I truly thought his hands would be tied behind his back All I/we can really do is speculate what will occur when the FA period commences...and watch in amazement. In theory, the Cowgirls should be in a much better position to improve than are the Eagles next year. For more on that topic, please see my recent post on Dallas sucks.

One of my fears is howie let’s Baun walk in free agency hoping that his pro bowl season parlays into a big contract and a decent comp pick in 2026 i think BG comes back for one more if we don’t win the Super Bowl but if we do he could call it quits.. we could also lose 1 or both coordinators again depending what happens…hopefully that isn’t the case
CouchKing Posted January 5 Posted January 5 How many more years does Lane Johnson have? We prob need DE/Edge, and after a dozen mock draft simulations maybe a DT is there for us. The simulation doesn't have us drafting at #32 overall yet but give it a month or so to work that out. I hate it when we draft 32. And, I hate 31 even more. Sometimes the simulation drops an OT or TE to our first round pick. Found some DT I like in the second round from reading profiles. Getting interested in the draft. Defense doing better this year. Better than last year's collapse. 4th quarter of Washington made me sick. I think we drafted well last year. Good rookie class. Not sure we can repeat the success, but maybe we are starting to get it, whatever it is. Trusting Howie to do some cap magic to round out the team. Worried about some retirements and free agent losses after a SuperBowl win.
