January 10Jan 10 I think they absolutely have to resign Baun.......I think he is the top reason why the defense has performed the way it has.....
January 12Jan 12 Baun, Williams, Becton will be back. Jurgens will get an extension. I think Davis gets an extension as well. BG comes back for one more ride. Sweat leaves
January 12Jan 12 Welp Howie Built one hell of a roster. Proving he is the best GM in the game. Incredible. This may be his best draft ever. Baun. Wow. All can say is HOWIE!!!

Shows what we know as fans, lol.
January 19Jan 19 Author Overthecap shows us as having about $19M in cap space. C utting Bradberry post June 1 adds another $4.7M. Making BG a post June 1 add about $1.2M. Toth $1.1M, and Cine $1M. That's a total of $26M available to sign free agents and the draft. My first thought is that if we're going to keep 2 or 3 of the big 4 free agents (Baun, Williams, Sweat, and Becton) Howie will have to do quite a bit of restructurning existing deals. Even then there won't be much left for free agency - maybe one splash but no more. That leaves Gainwell, Gates Driscoll, Big Fred Johnson, Uzomah, booker, Harris , Burks, Rogers, Covey, Maddox, and Lovato. Not a pretty picture.
January 19Jan 19 I'd let Sweat walk. He's going to be overpaid. We know they are going to draft an edge high. I think Baun, Williams, and Becton are all critical. Williams has become one of the main cogs of this defense. Baun doesn't need much of a description at this point. And while Steen will likely become a perfectly good starting RG in this league, he's a big lanky and will never be a dominant road grader. And in case anyone still hasn't noticed, the entire success of this team is predicated on the OL blowing teams up in the run game...so I'm not sure we can afford to lose Becton. No idea how you keep all 3, but losing any one of them will really, really hurt. Everyone else, including Sweat, I think you can comfortably figure out in the draft.
January 19Jan 19 Most of the names you mentioned don’t need to be back. So that’s a good thing. But hopefully they can keep 2 or 3 of the four you mentioned. I’d like to see Gainwell back as well, he’s a solid complement to Barkley. But they didn’t draft Shipley for nothing so Gainwell might be gone.

Yeah this is going to be a painful offseason. I kind of feel like they have to keep Baun, despite their general view on LBs. Contract is going to be huge but hopefully he is so grateful he will make it reasonably team friendly. DE is really a huge position of need. But keeping Sweat seems unlikely. His play has dropped off towards the end of the season the last couple of years and I just don’t see how we can afford him. Becton is the other big one for me. But again he’s going to cost and we have a lot invested in the O-Line. Hopefully this gets done. Sadly I think Milton moves on. He is rotational for us and with the amount we have invested in Carter/Davis, it’s going to be tough to keep him. Look perhaps at adding a couple in the draft. We need to think about extending Jurgens and Dean. And that massive Jalen Carter contract is coming soon….
January 20Jan 20 With Dean's knee injury potentially lingering into next season, or being a career-altering one, Baun is that much more critical to re-sign. I'd like to keep Becton, Williams, and Sweat, but I think we have decent young guys at all those positions, so none of them should be a higher priority than Baun.

January 20Jan 20 oh and we have to find a taker for huff. Howie has to work that magic. I think I consider trading AJ as well.

Let's keep the board current with current news and current thoughts No. If you post in your existing topic, it bumps it to the top of the 1st page so everyone can read your latest thoughts. If your topic is a good one that people are interested in, they will reply and keep it active. You're not adding anything current or new when you post the same list of pending free agents every few weeks. You did this last year, you started a new topic every 3-4 weeks with the same list. I kept merging them. You haven't learned your lesson, so you'll get warning points next time.
January 24Jan 24 According to Slay's latest X post, this is his last year with Philly. Not sure what a June1st cut looks like with his contract.
