Moore and Nussmeier Hired by Saints - Patullo Promoted to OC, Loeffler Hired as QB Coach

Oh look, I found some random stat and I'm suddenly going to place importance on it. If you can't tell this offense is light years ahead of last years, you haven't been watching. I mean, he's making two backups look like starters and adjusted the play calling to them.

The offense is lightyears ahead of last year. All hail Saquon. However, considering the talent we have in the WR/TE room, our passing game should not ranked 29th (Oh no, a "random stat."), even if we are a run-first offense.

I've seen people complain when Andy Reid didn't run the ball enough, yet here we are complaining about not passing enough. Reid would run the ball and stop doing it even when it was working. Kellen Moore is doing what he's supposed to do: using the strengths of the team.

How about Eagles pay Kellen Moore head coach money to stay OC like they do with Jeff Stoutland?

I don’t think saying Kellen Moore is NOT a "god send” is complaining that we don’t pass enough.

I think Moore has been good. I would like for him to stay for the familiarity standpoint and confidence he can get the job done.

This roster is good enough that A LOT of coaches could get the job done.

Thank you. You said it more clearly than I did.

There are only so many possessions in a game. We're not likely to rush and pass for 500 in the same game. We faced some of the worst rushing defenses in the league including 6 divisional games against three of the worst rushing defenses. When we've needed the pass because they were able to stop the run, Hurts has delivered.

The rushing game where we've dominated this year has not been Moore's strength in the NFL. It's all the route concepts and the pass schemes that we haven't had to put on tape because of the rushing game. The top 8 rushing defenses all made the playoffs. Our likely path of Packers, Vikings and Lions goes straight through 3 of them. We'll see plenty of passing in the playoffs.

You can make an argument for the Commies instead of the Vikes but the Bucs are a horrible matchup for them. They are trying to hype Jayden Daniels but the Commies are a run first team and facing a stout run defense in the Bucs. The Bucs are top 5 rushing offense and the Commies are one of the worst against the rush. So, I expect the Bucs to get a lead and control the game.

Unlike against us, the NFL doesn't tend to interfere to preserve narratives in the playoffs so the Bucs may be safe. They've been pushing Jayden Daniels as the next greatest QB in the league even though he's barely averaging 200 yards per game and is middle of the league. It was clear for weeks that they wanted the Eagles to lose and when they weren't able to thumb the scale, they dropped an atomic bomb on it. Even Vince McMahon was like "At least some people believed the Montreal screwjob might have been a verbal submit. This was an obvious screwjob."

If Mayfield goes into concussion protocol for rolling his eyes. They throw out a good Bucs defender for looking at them wrong. They don't even bother to hide the one-sided penalty calls against the Bucs. And when the Bucs are still winning, NY overturns a penalty call on the field that would have ended the game but yet never addressed any of the egregious missed calls throughout the game. Then they may be screwed anf we can officially change the NFL to the NFE.

How'd that work last year... Actually we haven't run nearly as much of Moore's offense because Jalen doesn't feel comfortable under center,

he prefers from the shotgun. Moore's offense uses a lot more play action but Hurts likes the RPO..I think if more doesn't leave the extra time the 2 of them have together will open Jalen up to more under center and Play action next year and the offense will be even better....THEN we lose Moore.

Good read by Florio:

The coaching carousel once against creates divided priorities for assistant coaches

By Mike Florio

From time to time, arguments are made that the entire hiring process for new head coaches should be delayed until after the Super Bowl. And there’s a very good reason for that.

With coordinators of playoff teams among the prime candidates for new jobs, there simply aren’t enough hours in the day to interview for possible promotions and to put together the best possible plan for winning the next game.

Some coaches have downplayed the extent to which preparing to interview for a head-coaching job takes away from the job they have. The reality is that every minute spent getting ready to make a good impression on an owner (by, among other things, lining up an incoming staff) and the rest of the hiring committee is one minute less that can be spent on searching for tendencies in the next opponent and making sure his own unit, offensive or defensive, has smoothed out any and all tells.

Broncos coach Sean Payton addressed that dynamic with reporters today, as his team prepares to face the Bills in the wild-card round of the playoffs.

"The big challenge this time of the year though is when you’re playing in these games, is minimize the distractions,” Payton said. "The league is always looking at the windows of when to interview and when to do that kind of stuff. Being in that position, when I had a chance to interview for — when I came home, my wife wasn’t asking how the game plan was. She was asking, ‘How are the schools at this next city?’ There’s that balance, and I think that the league has looked closely at the windows to do it and understandably so.”

Payton won’t have to deal with coaches like defensive coordinator Vance Joseph being interviewed unless the Broncos upset the Bills. If that happens, Joseph will be interviewing with the Jets during a week that presents the challenge of coming up with a strategy for heading into Arrowhead and slaying the dragon that is the Kansas City Chiefs.

So, yes, the best solution is to delay everything. Create zero distractions until the confetti has fallen. Until that happens, head coaches with playoff teams will have to account for the possibility that a coordinator or two might be spinning one plate too many at a time when full focus should be on the task at hand — and not on getting ready for the interview, conducting it, and then being peppered at home by questions not about the upcoming playoff game but about the possibility of moving to a new city with a new title and a new zero on the annual salary.

That's exactly who I thought of when I saw his pic...

Not sure of a hiring but I wouldn't be surprised if the DB coach gets interviewed

Has he? The Eagles' Offensive DVOA has never been lower since Hurt's rookie year.

the results are on the field. This offense has teams guessing. They played good, balanced, offense all season long.

Was this forgotten because it reached page 2 or has there been no new requests?

I really hope he stays. Especially after winning the SB. I mean, he's pretty much running the whole O. Would be amazing to have continuity on the O.

That last point cannot be overstated.  If Moore leaves that means Jalen has to start yet again with a new OC ... it also means that he would have had a new OC in every single season he has been a starting QB which is nuts.

Didn't he have Steichen for 2 seasons?

True ... but Sirianni called the plays for the first half of 2021 so technically then Jalen has had 1 1/2 seasons running an offense led by Steichen.

Just make sure to win the SB this year then while they have the staff.

Simple. ;)

If Moore goes to Dallas, Fangio will have first hand up-close knowledge of how to defeat him. :flex:

Apparently the interview is Friday. The fact nfl allows these distractions before a playoff game is outrageous.

We should interview any of our next opponents coordinator, cuz why not.

Well at least now we have a scapegoat for another **** offensive performance!!@!

With all the coaches interviewing and possibly changing teams, shouldn't the team the coach is with get some kind of compensation?  Even if blocking career advancement is not right, the team losing the coach should not go empty handed.

Also, kellen is such a **** for not saying something like... hold up bish i got a superbowl to focus on. Focus on the task at hand, potentially once in a lifetime opportunity.

Im reading he has 2 interviews friday and one on Saturday.

Not a good look

How is this right, and fair, that 2 days, and 1 day, before an important playoff game, Moore is doing 3 interviews? It’s just ridiculous that this is even allowed to happen?

Do the Eagles not need to give permission for these teams to request interviews? and even if they didn’t, Kellen Moore should have told these teams to come back in a few weeks…if they are serious about possibly wanting him, they’ll wait…

I wouldn’t even be surprised if teams like the Cowgirls are doing this purely as a distraction to try and mess with Moore’s Divisional game preparations, and actually have zero interest in hiring him…

Despicable practice that this is allowed to happen to a SuperBowl contender…
