How is this right, and fair, that 2 days, and 1 day, before an important playoff game, Moore is doing 3 interviews? It’s just ridiculous that this is even allowed to happen?

Do the Eagles not need to give permission for these teams to request interviews? and even if they didn’t, Kellen Moore should have told these teams to come back in a few weeks…if they are serious about possibly wanting him, they’ll wait…

I wouldn’t even be surprised if teams like the Cowgirls are doing this purely as a distraction to try and mess with Moore’s Divisional game preparations, and actually have zero interest in hiring him…

Despicable practice that this is allowed to happen to a SuperBowl contender…

I have to be honest that thought did cross my mind.

The NFL really does need to change this practice ... requesting interviews for coaches on other teams (all teams ... not just playoff teams) needs to wait until after the Super Bowl has concluded.  That not only prevents these kinds of distractions (coaches can claim all they want it is not a distraction but every minute spent preparing for an interview is less time spent working on the game plan) but it also gives all teams equal footing when it comes to hiring as the more coveted coaches will not have already been hired elsewhere when teams in the playoffs have their seasons end and their coaches are snapped up left looking for others to fill the vacancies.

Respect for Kingsbury for doing it the right way:

Kliff Kingsbury waits on all potential head-coaching interviews

On Sunday, we explained that Commanders offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury might wait on conducting one or more head-coaching interviews. He has decided to wait on all of them.

Per a source with knowledge of the situation, Kingsbury has decided to wait until the Commanders’ season ends to interview with any interested teams.

He’s still being paid into 2026 like a head coach, by the Cardinals. So there’s no financial urgency for him to become a head coach again.

The urgency is to fully focus on the task at hand, which consists of playing the Lions on Saturday night. Only six days after the franchise’s first playoff win in 19 years.

The Bears and Saints have submitted interview requests for Kingsbury. It’s believed the Jaguars might make a request, too. He could have been interviewed by one or more teams this week.

Kingsbury has, in the end, chosen to do what some believe the league should require all assistant coaches to do — spend their entire time and effort getting ready for the next game, without the distractions that come from preparing for interviews, lining up a tentative staff, and talking to another team about possibly becoming its next head coach.

Every second spent on those tasks is one less second that can be spent on getting ready to try to advance to the next round of the postseason. The Commanders and their fans should be happy that Kingsbury has decided to spend all of his time coming up with a strategy to beat the Lions.

Wish our OC had the decency to do the same! Instead he’s got 3 interviews lined up.

I don't see Moore getting a job in this cycle. Ben Johnson is almost a lock as the Raiders next coach. Glenn is a lock for the Jets job imo

DraftKings restores Cowboys’ next coach bet, with Kellen Moore the favorite

The volatility that prompted DraftKings to stop the betting has ended. Wagers are once again being taken for the next coach of the Dallas Cowboys.

The current favorite, at -150, is Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore. He interviewed virtually for the position on Friday.

Next on the list is Colorado coach Deion Sanders, at +200. Earlier this week, he was the favorite.

Current Cowboys offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer is third on the list, at +250.

The full list options has 60 names, including Bill Belichick at 12-1.

Eagles fans might not be thrilled by the fact that Moore took time out from preparing for a playoff game to interview. While some might try to downplay it, the exercise is definitely a distraction — and not just during the time of the interview. Moore had to prepare for the session, which includes coming up with names for a proposed coaching staff.

Every minute spent getting ready for and conducting the interview is one less minute he had to get the Eagles’ offense ready for the Rams. That’s not a slight against Moore; it’s a basic fact for any assistant coach who interviews before his team’s postseason run has ended.

Moore, a former Boise State quarterback who spent three seasons with the Lions and three with the Cowboys as a player, worked as a coach in Dallas for five years. He was the offensive coordinator for four of them.

He had that same role with the Chargers in 2023, before landing with the Eagles in 2024.

I'm sorry but that's just a load of bull.

Yeah sure, obviously he's not doing interviews during training. But having important job interviews coming up is a huge distraction.

We just got compensation for that **** in Arizona for screwing us big time with the whole interview business. Which should have been a way bigger scandal if you ask me. I sure am still pissed though admittedly I hated that dude from the get-go.

And it's almost funny coming from Siriani. You can see it written in his face that the Eagles is what keeps him up all night during season. Playoffs? I bet you his mind is 100% on this team.

It happens every year with teams around the league. Coaches have pressure to not miss out. Teams have pressure to get their guy first.

The only solution is the league to change the rules. Perhaps only coaches who's team isn't playing can interview. Or extreme & make it all start after the SB. Just like free agency has a defined start date.

I would start by saying active coaches can only interview on Monday or Tuesday during weeks they play and only during hours they don’t normally work on game planning. I would definitely not allow interviews this late in a week before a game.

Let's hope for an NFL policy change where all inquiries for interviews, interviews, and job offers cannot begin until after the Super Bowl.

Kellen Moore with second interview scheduled next week with NO for their open HC position.

Report: Saints plan second interviews with Joe Brady, Kellen Moore next week

The Saints are planning for in-person interviews with Joe Brady and Kellen Moore next week, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports.

Snow in New Orleans slowed down the search process this season, postponing in-person interviews with Giants offensive coordinator Mike Kafka, Aaron Glenn and Dolphins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver. Glenn was hired by the Jets today.

Former Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy also is expected to interview at team headquarters this week.

Brady, the Bills’ offensive coordinator, and Moore, the Eagles’ offensive coordinator, are coaching in the championship games. They still would be available to interview during the off week next week even if their teams make the Super Bowl since both had virtual interviews with the Saints.

Saints interim head coach Darren Rizzi has completed his in-person interview.

At least it’s after this game… I think with a week off before the SB that’s reasonable for him to interview. Though I think he’s going to get the Dallas job when our year ends.

The league needs to fix this situation by mandating that coaching interviews cannot take place until after the Super Bowl. Not even for coaches that are already eliminated or are not in the league. Allowing interviews to take place while games are still being played, interferes with those teams still in contention and allowing interviews of coaches who aren't in contention or aren't employed, puts those still working, at a big disadvantage.

Just imagine how things might have gone in Super Bowl LVII if our full coaching staff had it's full attention on just coaching that game. Or even 2018, after LII. Would Frank have been hired if the Colts had begun their full coaching search in February rather than being left at the alter and then being forced to quickly hire a coach. Maybe Frank still gets it, but maybe he doesn't and we keep him and maybe that alters the 2018 season.

Allowing teams to disrupt the playoff/Super Bowl coaching efforts of other teams should not be happening.

Take the Cowboys out of contention for Moore as HC.

Cowboys announce Brian Schottenheimer as the 10th head coach in team history

Only one team remains with a HC vacancy now ... the Saints.  All others have been filled.

I didnt think Moore was ever a serious choice for the cowboys, no surprise there

I like this for two specific reasons.

1. Hopefully, it means Moore stays focused on this game and the offense isn’t lethargic for much of the game. With how our offense, and the Lions played last week, I have a hard time believing coaching interviews aren’t taking a little something out of your prep.

2. Though Moore hasn’t blown me over as an OC, the flip side is I hate the idea of Hurts going thru another OC again. I would like some semblance of continuity on that side of the ball.

We don't need a mastermind at OC, we just need someone that's done it before and the talent on the team will take care of the rest.

I believe only the Saints are left looking for a HC, and Moore had a virtual with them. So it's possible after our SB win, we'll leave him behind 🤣

Forgot about the Saints.

Not that I’m sold on Moore I would like to have the same OC for a second year in a row.. suprised by some of the coaching hires

If we win the SB, then all of our Coaches can hit the road! I can coach the D, Joe can coach the O, UK can coach the ST's..............0-17 record for like 3 years!!!!!!

But, we got.................two Lombardi's, baby! :groovy: :LII:

The interest must be strong if they’re flying to Philly to meet.

Wish they’d just hire McCarthy already and end this nonsense - close out the HC hires for this cycle.

Why not wait until he arrives in New Orleans for media week and take a couple of hours then?

I don't think they are allowed to interview the week of the super bowl. Also maybe Moore said he doesn't want to interview that week.
