January 28Jan 28 I'd hate it if Moore goes to New Orleans. Especially because he'd probably bring 2-3 assistant coaches with him and the Eagles would have to fill these holes after every other team had their choice. The NFL needs to change this ASAP and don't allow any interviews before the SB.

Earlier reports indicated they were interested in Kingsbury but he chose to wait until after their season ended before conducting any interviews. Wonder if he is still on their radar. Maybe the work with Daniels will be of extra interest to them since (guessing) they'll likely be drafting a QB early. Hope so. Plus weaken an NFC opponent in the process.

January 29Jan 29 One big plus with Jalen Hurts is that he is incredibly resilient. He has had different OC's every year in college and the pros with the exception of having Steichen 2 yeas in a row. The constant changes are not good for a QB's development in a system because the system is always changing. If Moore goes, it'll be another new OC for him. Despite Jalen's ability to adjust and be successful, I hope Moore stays, so Hurts doesn't have to go through this yet again.

Some talking heads said there's a rule that they must travel to the coach for in person interviews during the playoffs, including the Superbowl so as to not interfere with that coach's prep work for the upcoming game. I wish they'd just push all of it to after the Superbowl. That'd create a level "playing field" for all prospective coaching hires.
January 29Jan 29 How many times does Hurts have to go through this OC carousel? At some fundamental level, it's just not right to hand him a new system to learn every year. A good fit + continuity is key for development. If Moore goes, I hope the Eagles find a very good fit at OC and one who stays for the long term.

At this point I think it is inevitable that Moore will be leaving for a HC job soon, whether that is NO or next year's hiring cycle (or year after that). That is the one drawback of having a good offense is that you tend to lose those guys sooner rather than later. Thank goodness Fangio has no interest in another HC spot (if we could only find the offensive equivalent of him to hire as OC when Moore leaves).

January 29Jan 29 Author Adding fuel to the fire that Moore will be the next HC in NO Report: Mike McCarthy won’t coach in 2025 After the Packers fired coach Mike McCarthy during the 2018 season, he grouped in 2019 before landing with the Cowboys. McCarthy plans to do it again. According to NFL media, McCarthy has decided to focus on the 2026 hiring cycle. He won’t coach in 2025. The difference between last time and this time is that he had a buyout after the Packers moved on. McCarthy, whose contract expired on January 14, will not be paid this year. But he’ll have a full year to assess potential jobs and await the inevitable firings. He’ll join the list of potential hires when next January rolls around. Only the Saints and Bears interviewed him this time around. The Jaguars, Jets, Raiders, and Patriots showed not interest. (The Patriots, of course, hired Mike Vrabel before McCarthy became available to be interviewed.) It’s possible, if not likely, that the Saints told McCarthy they’ll be going in a different direction. And will increase speculation that they’re waiting for Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore, who can’t be hired until after the Super Bowl. McCarthy, 61, has a career regular-season record of 174-112-2, with an 11-11 record in the postseason. He led the Packers to a win in Super Bowl XLV. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/report-mike-mccarthy-wont-coach-in-2025
January 29Jan 29 Prior to last week I was thinking Kellen wouldn't be that big of a loss, at least in comparison to other OCs that we have lost in recent years. But he really opened up the playbook and showed some creativity against Washington. Here's to hoping we see a lot more of that in the SB. If we win the SB and lose Kellen, I guess that's the price we pay for greatness.
January 29Jan 29 The biggest change this team made from last year to this year was on defense and that coach isn't going anywhere. If some team wants to grasp at straws and promote Moore to HC a few seasons too early, they had better start looking for the next guy now. If we lose him, we still have a HC with an offensive background that can continue the positives that Moore did bring here.

The big problem would be if you have to move a lot of pieces because the former employee takes assistants with him. Let's hope Howie an Sirianni find a new OC with similar system so it's not a big change.

The blocking schemes and protections aren’t changing much and he’s the run game coordinator. I don’t think Stout is going to make a change unless the he likes something the OC is asking for, I’m guessing his role is communicated during interviews for OC.
