The politicizing of this thing is terrible and starts at the top with Orangeman. Not to be left out the climate activists are also spreading crap with over the top BS. Of course Trump is 98% worse so you lot can save the "both sider” whining.

Oddly enough I think the biggest problem that the Dems have is that they believe that they are all staffers in some Sorkin political universe.

The "they go low, and we go high” did them zero favors.

There hasn't been a disaster in this country that hasn't been politicized for the last 50 years.  Remember when they excoriated Bush for flying over the Katrina aftermath?  Or when the governor of LA (yep, same one), criticized DeSantis for lack of building code regulations after the Surfside apartment building collapsed?

For better or worse, this is what our country does now.

Yep, and let's be honest here, incompetence by democrats at every level of government for years have exacerbated this crisis without question. It's OK to call them out. They're scum.

"I'm on the phone with the President right now. Uhh, no, you can't hear the call because I don't have cell service."

How?

How?

Water management, forest management, slashing the fire department budget while spending billions of taxpayer dollars to fund homelessness, DEI'ing the FD, etc. etc.

"No I couldn't carry your husband out of a burning building. He shouldn't have gotten himself in that predicament in the first place. Besides, I'm 👏 on 👏 my 👏 break 👏

Yeah, but it all about the timing and level.

DEI caused 80 MPH wind gusts  Got it. You haven't a clue how nearly impossible this is to contain.

As far as strategy and messaging from the party, I agree.  The Dems have hurt themselves with that. I do also think part of that isn’t just that they choose to go high but they are genuinely awful at strategy and messaging.  Even when they aren’t choosing a theoretical high road, their execution and messaging is terrible except when they happen upon a political superstar like Obama or Clinton.  They tend to be way too reactionary and short sighted.  They keep looking for "ah ha” moments that they think will lead people to a mass public epiphany that will gain them popular support. Of course, that never works.  Even Jan 6th couldn’t do it.

I totally said DEI caused the wind gusts, Paul. Great reading, buddy!

You are implying it helped lead to the impact of this disaster.  Like you said "DEI exacerbated this crisis"

...and then they went and diluted their ace in the hole "class" and allowed their fringe to try and make every single little thing about race and came out with nothing to show for it.  It will take some time now but if they get back to "class" they can swing things back in their favor without giving up on integrity.

I almost left DEI off because I knew libtards would hyper focus on that one since it's the easiest to push back on. To explain further since you're doing the whole libtard "you said DEI caused the fires, durrr" routine, yes, shockingly, having incompetent and underqualified people working in the fire department can make the fire department's response worse in crisis situations.

Ok, explain how this could have been contained. You seem to understand what needed to be done. Unless you're just going to say "more water".

I didn't say it could be contained. I said mismanagement at every conceivable level of government made the crisis worse.

So you admit it was unlikely to be contained but mismanagement made it worse? Ok.

He's right.

Those are canvas bags firefighters leave in their trucks to put out small fires quickly (instead of taking the time to hook up a hose). Just an FYI for you.

Stop it.  Democrats have been more vocal that anyone when a disaster happens in a red state.  When the Surfside building collapsed Karen Bass (LA Mayor) said that it was evidence of a larger problem within the GOP and that they needed to be voted out.  How was the timing and level on that?

They wouldn't even drop seawater because of environmental concerns until the Canadians were like screw that you morons
