birdman#12 Posted January 10 Posted January 10 Wow........he has clearly become the biggest disaster of a trade and a contract in NFL history. If he indeed sits out 2025, he will have played 19 out of a possible 68 games for the browns. The biggest heist in sports history. I really don't know what's possible, but if I owned the browns, I'd have every lawyer, cap expert and consultant working on the best solution to get out of that mess or reduce it's remaining impact. I'd call Jeffrey Lurie to ask permission and compensation arrangement to seek Roseman's input. I would fire Andrew Berry immediately and any personnel people involved in that trade. A trade of that multitude and subsequent disaster cannot go unpunished, It set the browns back probably 7-8 years. The Browns have some talent, and the traded 1st round picks have been used so they have a 1st and 11 projected picks in 2025. But Watson can't be part of their future. They have the 2nd pick in the draft and need to take a QB and give him the time and patience to develop....even if it means sitting him the first year. They have assets to trade to fill other holes.....they aren't in a position to sign free agents but they can turn the ship around. Stefansky is a good coach that had to live with the idiotic decision on Watson and it cost the team dearly. I think Stefansky and the right GM can turn this disaster around but...... ......Jimmy Haslam is an idiot of an owner and I doubt he can implement any positive changes....I feel bad for the loyal browns fans that have to endure this nonsense year after year.

All of that probably would be unnecessary if Watson sustained the injury doing "non-football activities" or violated his rehab stipulation for injury guarantees, they may be able to release him? I agree, they should draft a QB and have a bridge QB in place (maybe bring back Winston?)
