Slade Posted January 12 Posted January 12 Eagles win the Super Bowl!! That's my prediction and I'm sticking with it and no this isn't a jinx for them I don't believe in that garbage so don't try it. This is about building for the 2025 season and beyond. To start I believe Howie manages to keep both coordinators so that won't be an issue and he can continue to build the team around their concepts. Here we go! Retirements: 1.) Brandon Graham Edge - I tossed around the idea of BG coming back for another year but with two rings and an ever aging body I think he moves on. Brandon has cemented himself as a life long fan favorite and he decides to bow out still at the top and he doesn't need the money. God speed and good luck with your future adventures! Retirement starts June 1st and the Eagles get some cap relief of 1.25 million. 2.) Darius Slay CB - Darius gets the prize he's always coveted in a Lombardi trophy and gracefully walks away having passed his knowledge onto the young guys and they're ready. Howie will use one of the two early post June 1st designations freeing the team up 4.3 million 3.) James Bradberry CB - James knows he's not in the Eagles long term plans and no other team will want him either so he also retires. The other early post June 1st designation creates 4.7 million in cap space Cut/Let walk: 1.) Zach Buan LB - There's no way IMO that Howie will anti up big for a linebacker and someone will offer Zach an insane deal. 2026 3rd compensation 2.) Josh Sweat Edge - Josh is having his best year and I think he tests free agency and gets a deal better than what Huff got, and Howie doesn't match. 2026 4th compensation 3.) Milton Williams DT - Milton is also having a career year and he too tests the market and gets a deal on par with Josh. 2026 4th compensation 4.) Isaiah Rodgers CB - Isaiah has shown he's a solid CB2 and will get a deal reflecting it. 2026 5th compensation 5.) Kenneth Gainwell RB - Kenny wants to start and will get his chance somewhere else. 6.) Avonte Maddox CB - If he doesn't retire he will be let go. Re-signings/Extensions: 35+/- in cap space to work with and like always all contracts will be back loaded with big signing bonuses. 1.) Mekhi Becton OG/OT - I don't believe Howie will ever allow a huge generational athletic talent like this escape in free agency. Mekhi will also be viewed as Lane's heir apparent but for now gets paid as a guard because Howie is a master at this. 4 years 77 million deal. 2.) Cam Jurgens OC - I had fears that Cam would have a difficult year filling in for the great Jason Kelce, but I'm so happy the fears were proven wrong. Cam is a top 3 center in this league and he's still getting better and locking him is a top priority. 4 years 68 million 3.) Reed Blankenship S - Reed signed a one year prove it deal and he showed up dialed in. While he's not stud he is reliable showing a natural ability in crucial moments to create turnovers. Still very young he is an important leader in the secondary now being the OG at 25. 3 years 24 million extension 4.) Jordan Davis NT - I know there will be some that believe that this is stupid giving a new contract to someone who plays less than 40% of the snaps, but I argue in those snaps Jordan is highly effective and is huge against the run. 3 years 22 million extension 5.) Thomas Booker DE - Depth 1 year 3 million 6.) Rick Lavato ST - Reliable 1 year 2 million 7.) Nick Gates OC - 1 year 2 million Free Agency: Nothing significant perhaps some depth or practice squad types. Draft: 1.#32 Mike Green Edge - With the defense losing Graham and Sweat the need for a pass rusher is huge. Mike is a twitched up extremely productive pass rusher that shows tremendous athletic ability. He's possesses the speed and bend to get around tackles but also shows a good array of moves to confuse blockers. Having only started for one year at edge so he is a bit raw and needs to build his upper frame more to add some strength, but the immense talent is there. This is the guy that can get Hassan Reddick level of production that IMO is what is missing from making this defense go from good to great. Trade!! Da Raiders miss out on getting a QB in the 1st and Pickett has shown the he can produce and with talent at QB being very weak this draft they decide to gamble offering #37 & #107 for Kenny Pickett, #64 and a 2026 4th 2.#37 Tyleik Williams DT - Losing Milton to free agency is a blow but Howie find a way to not only replace but find an upgrade over him. Tyleik is explosive off the snap displaying the speed, athletic prowess and natural instincts to become a menace in the backfield. Having very good power and upper body strength his bull rush and ability to collapse at pocket is impressive. Strong against the run he constantly wraps up ball carriers with authority. A bonus is he also has relentless motor he never gives up on a play often chasing down the ball carrier far down field. Trade!! Eagles package #96 and a 2026 3rd to the Colts for #81 3.#81 Barrett Carter LB - Vangio's scheme demands top play from his linebackers and he himself has said as much, he's gotten that from Buan and Dean but Buan is gone and Trotter isn't ready IMO. Barrett has the speed range and instincts to own the middle of the field and he's seen as good in coverage. Can he fill the role that Buan plays? Yes. Do I believe he can come in day 1 and start? Yes. It's about the scheme and having the talent and intelligence to diagnose and attack and Barrett excels there. 4.#107 Nick Singleton RB - Barkley is a stud no doubt, however he still needs someone that can come in for a series or two and let him rest. Nick is a local kid coming from Penn St. he is big, fast, and super athletic who can carve up a defense. As strong as a runner as he is he's also a threat in the passing game, Nick like Saquon can be used in multiple ways which is a must for this offense. 4.#132 Eli Stowers TE - Goedert's age and reliability is becoming a major concern for the Eagles and I believe and depth is needed badly even with Calcaterra. Eli is a reliable receiver that can play from multiple spots, he displays strong route running skills and has sticky hands he wins most 50/50 battles. 5.#154 Dani Dennis-Suttin DE - Howie already got the elite pass rusher in the first but like Reddick he's a liability against the run. Dani in base defense would provide a formidable front in early downs, short yardage and goal line situations. 5.#161 Jacob Parrish NB - DeJean is a stud covering the slot but if he's out the drop off is considerable. Jacob is smart and instinctive corner possessing top end athletic ability with a knack of disrupting passing lanes. Trade! Howie likes to deal and Denver comes knocking offering #199 and a 2026 4th for #163 6.#199 Davison Igbinosun CB - Has elite talent and will be needed depth to be developed. Davison has a high ceiling but is very raw worthy of the pick here. 7.#229 Bru McCoy WR -Prototypical X-receiver who adds another big body who can be effectively in the redzone Depth Chart: QB: Hurts, McKee RB: Barkley, Shipley, Singleton WR: Brown, Smith, Dotson, Wilson, Smith, McCoy TE: Goedert, Calcaterra, Stowers, Jenkins LT: Mailata, Kinnard LG: Dickerson, Steen, Keegan OC: Jurgens, Gates RG: Becton, Steen RT: Johnson, Kinnard LDE: Williams, Dennis-Sutton, Ojomo NT: Davis, Young RDE: Carter, Booker IV WLB: Smith, Hunt ILB: Dean, Carter, Trotter SLB: Green, Huff LCB: Mitchell, Ricks SS: Gardner-Johnson, McCollum, Cine FS: Blankenship, Brown RCB: Ringo, Igbinosun NB: DeJean, Parrish K: Elliott P: Mann Summary: Offense - Remains mostly intact from the 2024 squad with backup RB being the biggest loss. I would expect another full year under Moore as OC will further develop and open up the Eagles true offensive potential. Barkley IMO will get less carries as Moore works to develop Hurts as a passer and 2025 I believe the offense will shift a bit more towards passing. I'm looking for a healthy 50/50 run/pass to truly make defenses fear the abilities of this offense. The addition of Singleton is a game changer IMO, he's the perfect compliment for Barkley if something were to happen, with Shipley being the super shifty home run threat. Brown, Smith and Goedert will continue to be the trifecta for Eagles passing game, but it needs other options and depth which I believe Stowers, Singleton and McCoy bring Defense - The majority of the off-season focus has been on defense and rightfully so. With the Eagles first three picks going to defense(Green, Williams, Carter) it proves Howie wants this side of the line addressed for the next 5-6 years. Green adds elite pass rushing ability to a young group and I envision multiple 10+ sack seasons by year two on. The biggest upgrade is to the DE/Edge with another addition of Williams and Sutton boasting quite amazing versatility between the two. Carter hopefully comes to close to replacing Buan's production and eventually surpasses him, Dean and Carter should be a dominate inside linebacker duo for years. The secondary sheds off a lot veterans, however I believe Mitchell is a stud and that Ringo will prove to be stud himself in his own right. They just need depth which is addressed with Parrish and Igbinosun . Safety remains unchanged. Eagles 2026 draft picks 1,2,3,3,4,4,5,5,6,7 Next year the Eagles have the ammunition to address holes on offense long term and for depth and for whatever issues arrive.
zbeaster Posted January 12 Posted January 12 Mike Green is very intriguing. I could also see Howie try to trade up for Tyler Warren depending on what that would require giving up. I'm assuming he doesn't make it to the Eagles' pick.
