Were we really favored against the Cardinals? Just genuinely asking becuase that whole year was a struggle and the year Mcnabb got benched and both teams had the same record except for the tie we had. Pretty sure that tie is what got us in the playoffs that year too.

I think they win handedly, that was the andy Reid let downs, i dont have those feelings of losing games they should win anymore

You have a much better memory of the specifics than I do.  I only remember the teams and the mindset among a majority of our fanbase going into the games (like the Bucs not being able to win in the cold as another mindset going around before that game).

Yup that was 44-6 yr I the win and in game vs Dallas because of teams losing prior in the day (bears and bucs iirc).

Truly thought that was our year but Larry Fitz literally willed that team to the SB and damn near won it

I wouldn't count on the cold weather slowing down Stafford.  He's played very well in cold conditions more than once.  Remember, he used to be a Lion.  Which means playing the Packers in Green Bay once a year (where it can get quite cold).

The Lions usually sucked in Green Bay during his time there.

One of those games he threw for 502 yards and 5 TDs in a cold game in GB. Stafford certainly didn't suck in that game.

Which makes it an anomaly. His career record in GB was 3-8 as a Lion.

Also just looked it up. It was the final week of the regular season in 2011. Green Bay went 15-1 that year and had the #1 seed. It also looks like Matt Flynn was playing QB that day for GB, so there’s no telling who else GB may have sat that night, especially on defense.

Oh, and the Lions lost 45-41.

I think you're crazy, but somehow Stafford losing in Detroit to send them to their first Super Bowl is a story that writes itself.  Like like I'm rooting for Washington regardless.

Yeah, sometimes I get sucked in by possible story narratives.  I do think the NFL loves it when there is a good story line for a big game and I've definitely wondered if there has ever been any "nudging" by the NFL to try and make a certain matchup happen (i.e., directives for the refs to call a game a certain way).

That said, what is more enticing for the NFL as a story line for the NFCCG: Stafford vs. Detroit or the best 2 NFC teams facing off (Eagles/Lions)?

As far as Super Bowl story lines...what do you think is most appealing for the NFL?
1. Buffalo vs Detroit: One team will win their first ever Super Bowl and a game that would feature 2 offensive juggernauts with lots of scoring
2. Chiefs first team to 3-peat
3. Lamar Jackson finally breaking through
4. Rams making it with the LA wild fires in the backdrop (reminiscent of NY Giants and NE "Patriots" making it the year following 9/11 or the Saints making it after Katrina, etc)
5. Eagles vs Bills - 2 crazy-ass fan bases! lol

I'm not talking about the record of the team I am talking about how well he personally played in the conditions. And he's regularly thrown for several hundred yards in cold games with multiple touchdowns.  The point is that cold weather hasn't really been shown to make him play better or worse, so it's not really an advantage for the Eagles at least as far as Stafford's effectiveness.  An advantage would be playing significantly worse every time he plays in the cold, but his past passing stats don't really reflect that. The Eagles defense are the ones that have to shut him down, the temperature isn't going to do it for them.

Start by getting Shady on speed dial. Use whatever shoes and cleats he used and pick his brain on how he dealt with it.

Didn't you see the Chiefs game today, NFL officiating is complete crap and getting worse

Nah I get it...but that's KC and we're not playing them.

I don’t think it’ll be an easy one… but it rarely is with Philadelphia lol

Looks like we may have a shot to host the NFC Championship Game

Gotta handle our biz 2mrw

Hopefully the team is locked in after what just happened in Detroit.

Team must be salivating at the chance of a revenge game at home against Commies in NFC Championship.  No chance we lose to a mediocre Rams team.
