Many of the sacks he takes are so infuriating.  And I can't tell if he's just holding it too long because he needs to "see it" before throwing, or if the OL is breaking down too fast, or if the play calling never gives him a hot read.  Prob a combo of all 3...but man, so frustrating.

I think that's probably Hurts, but also teams blitz and bring pressure. The Rams have a good defensive front so they're going to make plays as well, but the O line also missed some blocks. Hurts has to either tuck it and run forward for at least some positive yardage, or find a way to scramble and throw it away. Too often he just hesitates and then takes a sack.

I usually feel pretty confident heading into an NFCCG, but the final second 'thriller' on Sunday and the struggles in the passing game have me feeling a bit anxious. I'm hoping that Sunday's struggles were weather related, but we need a passing threat to make the run game work the way we want.

So I really hope that if there's a 'Hurts problem', he works it out this week, whatever it is.

I think we got to cute with the play calling which almost cost us the game… even if they were stacking the box you run the ball instead of running around in the end zone getting a safety with a hurt qb.

For the record. 2024-25 Divisional Round passing leaders:

Stafford: 26/44, 324 yards, 2 TD. Loss
Goff:  23/40, 313 yards, 1 TD, 3 INT. Loss
Daniels: 22/31, 299 yards, 2 TD. Win
Jackson: 18/25, 254 yards, 2 TD, 1 Int. Loss
Stroud: 19/28, 245 yards. Loss
Mahomes: 16/25, 177 yards, 1 TD. Win
Hurts: 15/20, 128 yards. Win
Allen: 16/22, 127 yards. Win

Each game's passing leader lost. Maybe there is more to it than having a QB throw it a ton.

When all they had to was run out the clock close to 2:00 left, Hurts faked the handoff and runs a bootleg pass into a 12 yard sack. Why are they even trying to pass? At least Hurts took the sack inbounds to keep the clock running, forcing the Rams to use another timeout. Just run the ball so the Rams use up their timeouts. If Barkley can get 3-4 per play, all they need is 10 yards for a first down and the game is over.

Yes another very stupid call… even if Barkley would have got 2 yards each on 3 carries it would have used their timeouts and given us a forth and 4 to decide if it was worth going for it or not.

I don't remember the last time I saw an NFL quarterback take a safety when the pressure was right up the middle in a playoff game.  It was like watching a car accident in slow motion.  Whatever is going on with Hurts holding on to the ball and taking these brutal sacks needs to stop and needs to stop now.

I would still prefer a better showing from the passing game.

The last couple of games (and truthfully there’s been a lot of games this year) where I’ve come out of the game just wanting more from the passing game. But also thinking we know it can be better because we’ve seen it be better. The question for me is… What does this team need to do to be better in the pass game? Because look we know Jalen is limited but we also know he’s been much better than he is at the moment.

I like Sharps take on the situation.. he said they did the same thing with Davis… forced teams to stop the run and they couldn’t stop TD so they stuck with it.. he said the eagles are doing the same with Barkley.. imagine everyone knows he is getting the ball and the vast majority of our offense but he still put up over 200 yards in bad playing conditions.

also AJ had two drops  and Smitty couldn’t hold on when he got smashed for a penalty… if they would have had just those 3 receptions it was close to 100 more yards passing.

taking the sacks is one thing but there should have been some better play calling in some of those situations and the rams have a good young dline.

It's pathetic how Hurts gets overly criticized by analysts and Eagles fans.   When Hurts leads the team to a SB win by simply managing, I'm sure some fans will just complain about it instead of celebrating the win😂

Would I like to see more from the passing game too?  Yeah sure ... I guess.  But I'm not fretting about this as much as many around here seem to be.  If it were costing us games then sure it would be a bigger deal to me but so far **knock on wood** it hasn't.  Our identity is as a running offense ... the players approached Sirianni and specifically asked for this during the bye and it has led to winning 14 of the last 15 games.  Fingers crossed this formula makes it 16 of 17 to close out this season.

I realize it is a big part of the offensive scheme, but I have concern how much Hurts is holding the ball, taking shots. I don't know if it is the playbook, receivers are not getting open, or if it is by design to let Hurts run around until someone breaks free or he decides to scramble. I know the danger of Hurts running the ball keeps defenses on their toes. But either way Hurts is taking too many shots: getting knocked out with a concussion in the last Commanders game, or having the defense land on his knee like last week. I'd like to see quicker decision making, throw it away if no one is open, or take off right away and slide before getting tackled. At least Hurts is sliding early and more often, limiting some of the hits.

There are certainly questions regarding offense...for men the biggest one is will A.J.Brown finaly show up or will he continue reading his book?

I am totally cool with another ugly win.  In the 1980 NFC Championship Game, Jaws threw for 91 yards total.  The Eagles dominated.

The Eagles do not have to be a QB centric team to win.  Playing a clean game and not turning the ball over counts as extra points - especially when Fangio's defense is getting its turnovers.  The critical factor seems to be explosive plays.  Limit them on defense, and exploit them on offense.  Eagles simply shifted explosive play production from the receivers and TE to the RB, and it works in devastating fashion.

Right now, if possible, the team shouldn't need to rely too much on Hurts.  Too much talent all over.  Let the entire squad carry this team to the win.

Love this! I mean I know it’s his team mates talking so you have to take it with a pinch of salt but still. They didn’t need to say he has thrown it better than he has in weeks.

Difference of course being that this is every week for Hurts with a much, much better offense and team around him

He has played this way all year, it will not stop
