time2rock Posted January 16 Posted January 16 Eagles injury update: A.J. Brown misses practice to start week Eagles receiver A.J. Brown missed practice to start the week as the Eagles manage his knee injury in the playoffs. By Dave Zangaro • Published January 15, 2025 Eagles star receiver A.J. Brown was not at practice on Wednesday as the Eagles began to prepare to host the Rams in the divisional round. Last week, the Eagles managed Brown and his knee injury throughout the week and they’ll do the same thing in the second round of the playoffs. Brown said he will practice on Thursday. And he said he felt fine during Sunday's game, despite having just one catch. "I was fine, moving around fine," Brown said. "I was open. I was cool." Here's the full injury report from Wednesday: DNP: RB Saquon Barkley (rest), WR AJ Brown (knee/rest), C Cam Jurgens (rest), T Jordan Mailata (rest), OLB Josh Sweat (rest) FULL: QB Kenny Pickett (ribs), DT Byron Young (hamstring) Brown was limited last Wednesday, DNP on Thursday and full on Friday. He first popped up on the injury report with that knee injury on Dec. 19 and it doesn’t seem like it’s going away. For the Eagles, it’s about managing it and getting Brown as healthy as possible for game day. Against the Packers in the wild-card round win, Brown had just 1 catch on 3 targets for 10 yards but said afterward that his knee felt fine. While Brown wasn’t at practice at the Linc on Wednesday, several other key starters were out there as spectators. Jordan Mailata, Cam Jurgens and Saquon Barkley were in attendance but not participating. Meanwhile, receiver DeVonta Smith was practicing on Wednesday. That’s a good sign after he was sidelined last Friday with back tightness. While Smith played in the game on Sunday, he was held out for precautionary reasons on the final day of practice last week. He apparently made it through the game fine. It's also worth noting that Jalen Hurts is no longer on the report with his left ring finger. Rookie offensive lineman Trevor Keegan also returned to practice on Wednesday after missing last week with an illness. The Eagles brought back linebacker Nicholas Morrow to the practice squad on Tuesday and he took the field on Wednesday wearing No. 43. New practice squad receiver Elijah Cooks wore No. 85. https://www.nbcsportsphiladelphia.com/nfl/philadelphia-eagles/eagles-injury-update-aj-brown-rams-playoffs-devonta-smith-saquon-barkley/642636/
UK_EaglesFan89 Posted January 16 Posted January 16 It’s hard to tell how much the injury was impacting him because the offense (and specifically Hurts) really struggled but I’d be surprised if it didn’t limit him at all. He was such a non factor that it must have been holding him back.
PoconoDon Posted January 19 Posted January 19 rest everyone you can at this point. They know the plays, schemes, gameplan. A little walk through is all they need. AJ and the rest of them will be fine vs. the Rams.
