gameshowfan91 Posted February 13 Posted February 13 1. Nick Sirianni: He has done a great job getting his team ready to play, got a Super Bowl, 54-23 overall record. It's great to not see Eagles lose in NFCCG. Players seem to like him despite his boneheaded decisions at times. 2. Doug Pederson: He got Eagles their first Super Bowl, made Nick Foles look great. Players played for him for a short time. He didn't make the same mistakes as Andy Reid initially. I went back and forth on 3. and 4. 3. Andy Reid: He was really good for a long time. Turned this franchise around. Had some fun years with him. If they won a Super Bowl with him, he may have been #1. 4. Chip Kelly: Not a popular pick. I know he was one of the worst, but he did things that shaped the franchise how it is today. He got Howie demoted in 2015, which made Howie better at his job (2 GM of the Year awards since then), Lurie doesn't give head coaches GM powers anymore, got them Jeff Stoutland, showed Eagles what kind of players they should get. Doug Pederson used his Playbook to get the most out of Nick Foles and won their first Super Bowl. 5. D. Vermeil: Turned Eagles into a contender after many horrible years before him. Too bad he got burned out; he may been higher on this list.
UK_EaglesFan89 Posted February 13 Posted February 13 I think I’d probably have Reid at #2. I think what he did for the organisation is a big big reason why we are where we are now. And I think Doug kind of caught lightning in a bottle but didn’t sustain success. But I also acknowledge delivering this city it’s first Super Bowl is a huge deal. 2
VaBeach_Eagle Posted February 13 Posted February 13 You have to have Greasy Neale at the top of that list. He won back to back championships by shutout scores. The only team in NFL history to do that, past or present. Don't just stick to 'modern day' when you're talking about the best ever. That's like talking about the best ever singers or groups and only talking about the 80's through today. 1
Bwestbrook36 Posted February 13 Posted February 13 You said we were turning into the cowboys because nick wouldn't bench Barkley or Smith and now you have him #1? My god are you unhinged 1

Nick’s never missed the playoffs, Doug did twice

pgcd3 Posted February 16 Posted February 16 I'm going Super Bowl era here. 1. Nick Sirriani - 2 Super Bowls with one win. Always made playoffs. 2. Andy Reid - 5 NFCCG & 1 Super Bowl and essentially brought us Doug 3. Doug Pederson - SB Champ 4. Dick Vermeil - brought the franchise back from the dead and made a SB 5. Buddy Ryan - gets a bad rap now but that was an extremely entertaining few years even with playoff mess. The fun we had is lost in stats now 1

SkippyX Posted February 17 Posted February 17 I'd have AR at 1: Hurts is a man and McNabb was a boy. That's not on AR. Greasy is 2 because back to back and his name is cool. Siri is 3 but this season was probably the best coaching season for what he dug out of and his improvement. If we get 5-10 more years of this Siri, he will be an easy #1 Vermeil is 4 - Like AR, he took the franchise out of the garbage heap. Before Vermeil this franchise was a joke. Doug is 5 for bringing home the Lombardi I love Buddy for entertainment value and D but he was brain dead on offense. 1
brkmsn Posted February 17 Posted February 17 I think Buddy gets a bad rap for offense. Try fixing that O-line in 5 years without the help of free agency. He saw the value in a dual threat QB way ahead of the rest of the NFL. He drafted Cris Carter (4th rd pick ), Keith Jackson (1st), Keith Byars (1st), Anthony Toney (2nd) and used a 1st round pick in the trade for All-Pro Ron Solt (who then got caught using steroids and was only an average player after that --- but still the best OL in the Ryan era). I don't think he ignored the offense. Even though that O-Line showed improvement each season, it never achieved "decent" status and was the main cause of our offensive issues.
