Erie Posted February 13 Posted February 13 I'm not sure anyone will top Jason Kelce's 2018 speech. But out of this roster, who has the greatest chance of bringing the passion and fire to the podium?
UK_EaglesFan89 Posted February 13 Posted February 13 I think there’s a thread from Time2Rock on this? With the most likely candidates to take on the Kelce mantle. Dickerson strikes me as having the most quirky character. Mailata though is a great guy with great lines. I just hope everyone is themselves and doesn’t try something just to level up with Kelce. I think that would be too fake.
NOTW Posted February 13 Posted February 13 Brandon Graham. Longest tenured Eagle. Wins 2nd Super Bowl. Retiring. He's always been vocal, hyping up his teammates, trash talking. They could do another "It's the whole team" version with this group, talking about all the doubters and criticism. But that also had a complaining, negative rant vibe to it back then. It made sense, sticking it to the doubters. But there's also something to be said about winning and focusing on the positives. They could do a positive spin rather than ranting, and focus on how every player on the team is selfless and puts the team first. Above individual stats, outside noise, criticism. They could talk about how the national media were already preparing 3peat celebrations for the Chiefs and doubted them. They can talk about leadership, focusing on winning, work ethic, culture, having each other's backs. Showcase the culture and team values. Either way, just have fun with it. 2
NOTW Posted February 13 Posted February 13 One thing I hope does NOT get said is anything like "this is the new normal." I want them internally to work hard toward a repeat. But just celebrate this win. Don't predict dynasty or anything like that, that will backfire. Certainly you can say we're hungry for more or we're looking forward to competing next year or something. But don't go out there getting too cocky and ahead of themselves. Otherwise they would be just the same as the Chiefs expecting a 3peat. Just celebrate this one. 4

When I started to read your post I started to think "I don’t mind Hurts or Sirianni mentioning the hunger to repeat or to go and work hard to get back” but no talk of dynasties or the new normal. This is to be enjoyed the hard work starts in a couple of weeks (or whenever depending on the different characters of players).

Need to remember how a lot of stuff fell into place for us this year just from luck, like the Commies beating the Lions.
beto_eagles Posted February 13 Posted February 13 BG will have his moment, he's great and funny, but I don't think he's someone who would put together a long speech. It's got to be one of the OL, and my best guess is Lane.

Well, prior to the season he said it would be his last. Prior to the SB he said it would be his last game, he's retiring. After the win in the locker room a reporter coaxed him asking if he's sure. He said something like he didn't want to discuss it right now, just enjoy this moment. So we'll see.

I'm sure it will be his last, how else to go out? I wish Kelce had stuck around for one more season to go out like this. But you never know, he could say 'one more'. But would the Eagles let him have one more?
Mike030270 Posted February 13 Posted February 13 Barkley and let him just rave about how awesome it is here 1

He was still playing at a high level this year.
kiwinavega Posted February 13 Posted February 13 I hope it is Mailata, too. And also that he brings his mama - she's awesome on Twitter. Also, kind of hope we see some king crap from Howie
