February 17Feb 17 Keep Braun and Becton. See if they can work something out with Milton Williams. I just think he is a necessary piece of the Dline.
February 17Feb 17 As usual with that terrible account they got the story wrong. Howie traded back and Detroit took the guy Donahue wanted McNeil who made a Pro Bowl I believe. Obviously things worked out well with Williams so all good with Howie but butchered story
February 17Feb 17 Think 2 of the big 4 are back in some form (Baun, Becton, Williams, Sweat). I personally hope Baun is one those back, and Sweat (love his SB heroics) isn't if we are only retaining 2. Slight preference for WIlliams over Becton, but I'd be OK with Baun and Becton being the 2.

If I recall correctly they wanted McNeil but traded down 2 spots, picked up another a 6th in the process, and then Detroit grabbed McNeill with that pick in between and we ended up taking Williams. And afterward he was fist bumping everyone but Donahue was pissed and didn't fist bump him. Like you said, things worked out well with Williams as our pick.
February 17Feb 17 Any chance bradberry is let go too? Hes on the books for 12m or something like that?

OTC shows a cap hit of $7.8M for 2025: Whether he is cut or traded with a post June 1 designation results in the same ($3.1M in a dead money hit to the 2025 cap but $4.7M in cap savings):

Ditto Slay (and Goedert). 2026 are void years for all of them (the cap hit from all future void years would accelerate into that final year if a new deal is not worked out prior).
February 17Feb 17 Go to post june 1 cut or trade for Bradberry and see what it reflects I think it’s 4 something million in 2025 and a large portion in 2026 in savings
February 17Feb 17 I think Baun will be the priority to re-sign and I think it gets done quickly. Williams is most likely gone - mainly pending what they do with Jordan Davis. They'll either exercise Davis' 5th year option or sign him to an extension. Then Carter will get a killer deal next offseason, which surely Roseman will be anticipating. Can only allocate so much at one position. Plus, Ojomo is a decent candidate to backfill Williams' spot in the rotation. Sweat will be interesting. They tried to trade him last year and got him to take a pay cut...I wonder how that will affect his willingness to stay. And to be honest, while I do like Sweat and he had a killer game in the SB...it's not uncommon for him to disappear for multiple game stretches. Can't break the bank for him, but at the same time our Edge depth is gonna be really depleted. Becton will be another interesting decision. I think he truly appreciates what the Eagles have done for him. But Jurgens will be an extension candidate and how much can we afford to give Becton when Stoutland U may be able to replace him with a draft pick or possibly Steen? If they can re-sign Burks, Rodgers, Gainwell and F. Johnson to cheaper deals, I think they're all no-brainers to bring back.

Here’s a question for you then bud… We need to do something with Davis for sure. Would you prioritise Davis or Williams? See I agree I think they’ll prioritise Davis but there’s definitely a case to say that they should actually bring back Williams more? And that’s not a knock on Davis I think he’s been good and solid but he’s not been what they’d hoped. I guess they think Davis is probably going to be cheaper? I do hope they bring back Burks though. I mean Baun too but Burks played a really key role during the playoffs and we don’t know when Dean will be back.

Davis plays a different role than Williams and they don't really have anyone else that can fulfill Davis' role right now. I think they'll prioritize him and he likely won't cost as much. Moro Ojomo plays the same role as Williams and has shown some flashes. I'd love to keep Williams and maybe Howie pulls off some magic again, but Carter will certainly be a "bank breaker" one year from now and Howie will surely anticipate that.

Davis is a run stuffer whereas Williams is able to get after the passer. I do think in Ojomo we have a guy ready to step in and I’m sure we will draft a DT at some point this draft. I guess my thinking was a big bodied run stuffer can be easier to find in FA or later rounds of the draft?

Sometimes you can find guys like that late....but hard to find them with the upside of Davis and his athleticism, hence why the Eagles traded up in Round 1 for him. Sometimes it takes DTs a few years to start breaking out, there's still hope for Davis to continue his ascension. Same for Ojomo.

To be fair I definitely think Davis took a real step forwards this year? I don’t know how his stats looked but it felt like he was really able to Influence games more. Hopefully he continues on that upwards trajectory.
February 17Feb 17 I really like Williams but I think the price will be to high and like some of the other prospects we have also. I’d roll with Ojomo/Davis and the guys we have and try and add a draft pick and this guy to the mix after his release (which doesn’t count against any potential comp picks) If defensive tackle Javon Hargrave is going to remain with the San Francisco 49ers, it will have to be on a new contract. San Francisco general manager John Lynch revealed Wednesday that the team is making Hargrave a post-June 1 cut this offseason, per ESPN's Nick Wagoner.
February 17Feb 17 Unfortunately I think Williams is gone. We're going to have to pay Jordan Davis and Jalen Carter soon. And Ojomo seems to be a baller and could step into the #3 DT spot next season. Then, in a d-line rich draft, let's invest a pick or two into a youngster and we're set. Hate to see Milton walk, but he's earned his payday.

That’s a lot of question marks to me though and I think the only true way to find out would be if someone ask howie if that’s the case and he actually answers.

Insurance is for actual cash not for cap space.
