Daily reminder:

Last March the Eagles signed:
    • OL Matt Hennessy, cut in August.
    • Huff: barely saw the field
    • Devin White, cut in October
    • CB Tyler Hall, placed on IR then released, now with Seattle
    • DT PJ Mustipher, cut in August

They signed Baun and everyone said "who???"
Everyone said we're screwed at corner. Then they drafted Q and DeJean, Rodgers looked good in practice and then half the fans said let's trade Rodgers because we are stacked at corner.

A lot can change with other free agents signed, the draft and August cuts.

People complaining about how the offseason is going even before it actually officially started.

Does he play outside or nickel?

I also doubt he does, but he could draft 8

Howie loves to manipulate that draft board. I could easily see him trade out of 32 for a future first later.

I would have done so, but the Board was too good and the trade offers presented by the simulator were not appealing.  I proposed a trade of 32 and 96 for the Bears’ 39 and 41, but the simulator rejected my various offers

I'm fairly sure he has played both at some point but the majority of the time was at outside corner.  Kempski put together a current CB DC and has him slotted at outside corner (for what that is worth).

And yikes, looking at that, it really points to how thin we are now at outside corner.  Have to assume CB could very well be a day 1 or day 2 pick now (especially after seeing the success last year's rooks had).  Would be nice to add another draft pick to that tandem to solidify the back end of the defense for the next few years.

I like the Adoree signing. He’s a talented guy who perhaps hasn’t hit the heights hoped for. But hey he’s been in NY so that can’t of helped.

Somewhat surprised they haven't re-signed Lovato.  Unless they are planning to work someone new in there.  It would be huge if a position player could double as LS to create another roster spot.

It seems pretty obvious the new blueprint here in Philly is to rely much more heavily on drafting and developing their own players.  Fortunately Howie has been drafting much better since the Reagor fiasco ... the last 4 drafts have been tremendous.  And we have a coaching staff in place now that does a great job with player development.  Hopefully we add some much needed pieces next month (another starting outside corner would be a huge boost for starters).  These guys that are being signed now to minimal deals are nothing more than insurance policies/depth pieces ... if we hit on the right players next month and continue to develop them along with our other more recent draft picks, some of these guys just added likely won't even make the roster.  The key is really to just continue the recent trend of drafting well.

I think it’s a matter of risk vs reward there.. yes it would be great if another player could snap but if they are doing other things more of a chance they get hurt and also this snappers practice countless times if you have to focus on another position I think it could hinder snapping.

Lovato has been alright and not off to much but Mann did a great job getting some snaps down I think they might look to find a new younger long snapper.. I actually think they will bring in competition for punter and kicker also.

Yes and howie is keeping all options open.. someone slips i think we have enough ammo we could trade all the way into the top 10 or more likely we trade down and get a couple more picks and then use that ammo to trade back up and select who we want in rounds 2-4/5.. again I can’t help but hearing this draft is deep more then it is stars.

It's always risky to mess with special teams group of 3... I think Lovato might be the only one who will have real competition or his job... think Mann did a fine job proving his worth..camp body will be here to help through training and preseason same with Jake Elliot..no real threat just camp bodies coming in to take a load off.

A summary of all moves made in free agency thus far:

Missing from the "out" list is CB James Bradberry

Eagles QBs Jalen Hurts and Dorian Thompson-Robinson share the same Chess coach

Article by Glenn Erby of Eagles Wire

Aside from chess, the article calls out DTR's stats in Cleveland.

Drafted in 5th round of 2023.

Over 2 years, played in 15 games with 5 starts.

completing 121 of his 230 pass attempts for 880 yards, one touchdown and 10 interceptions. Additionally, Thompson-Robinson rushed for 187 yards on 35 attempts."

Maybe DTR is limited, but what do we expect a 5th round pick QB to do for the Cleveland Browns? Walk on water?

Wondering how the Browns OLine was rated during that time.

On a side note, that's where we sent Kenny Pickett.

These guys are earning their rookie contracts.

DTR will go from trial by fire with the Browns to holding the clip board and running the scout team for the Eagles.

History says to trust The Howie, but it seems like we've lost SO much more than we've gained.  After losing two starters and a top back-up in the secondary, one starting LB, and two starting DL, there's no way that we can think/imagine that we've still got the best Defense in the league.

Will Campbell from Michigan is a name being discussed in the Blog today.

They signed a youngster today.
