March 26Mar 26 Win a Super Bowl, lose some good coaches and players. That's how it goes. You make the best deals you can to keep the core together, and replace what you can through the draft and a few in FA. I would rather win a Super Bowl and have this happen, rather than have great players everywhere who never win one. 🤟🏼
March 26Mar 26 If they have another solid draft and come away with a DE and Safety among their high picks, they will be in good shape. They're going to have 2nd and 3rd year guys stepping up and being even better, the offense should continue to thrive, another year for the defense under Fangio and the other coaches instruction and comfort in the system. They have a roster loaded with star players, they had some guys leave in free agency but their core is still there.

Ever since the Reagor fiasco in 2020 when afterward Howie said he did a lot of thinking about strategy they have been drafting MUCH better. These last 4 drafts have yielded Smitty, Dickerson, Williams, Davis, Jurgens, Dean, Carter, Nolan Smith, Mitchell, DeJean, Hunt ... I sure hope we continue that trend these next few years. The beautiful thing about being set up now with so many draft picks is that we have the draft ammo to target specific players we really covet and go get them (like we did with DeJean last year) without killing the rest of the draft. Add more difference makers to the young core mentioned earlier in this post and this team will be set for the foreseeable future - we won't miss a beat after losing players like Williams, Sweat, and CJGJ. Speaking of the draft ... only 29 more days!
March 26Mar 26 Williams is the only one that is young and yet established player. The others are more top out or declining. The last few drafts have yielded some good young players. Hopefully Howie continues to draft well, sign the right FAs and the coaches develop them. The team looks good as a SB contender for the next several seasons.

You never know when it's going to open again. Having said that, the NFL should absolutely do something about the timing of coaching interviews. It doesn't feel as bad after winning it, but it's very unfair for the SB/Championship games losers.
March 27Mar 27 Author Eagles sign OL Matt Pryor (our 2018 6th rd pick). https://www.phillyvoice.com/report-eagles-sign-ol-matt-pryor/ Interestingly enough, he was the 21st highest rated OG in the NFL (right behind Becton who was 20th). He started 15 games at RG for the Bears last year.

Wonder what percentage of them pan out.

April 4Apr 4 I know I'm mixing eras and probably owners, but you can't hold teams together no matter what. We saw Reggie White leave in his prime. We saw BDawk leave before he was finished.

April 11Apr 11 Marshall's numbers in college are good. But not so in NFL. Only 24/25 old and good size + speed. Joining a good team with good players around him should be good for him. Only thing is how many balls he would see as WR3.

He also is on a rookie contract for the next couple of years, so I'd keep him for now.

April 16Apr 16 Howie has a new catch phrase that he keeps using. "The tools in his body." He says it is part of player analysis. So there is a guy in college this year that I really like, going by "The tools in his body."He has a screw driver in his right arm.He has a chainsaw in his left arm. He has a hammer in his stomachHe has a drill up his arse.Great player that has "the tools in their body."

Doesn't exactly bode well for him.
