I'm sure more than half the board predicted the same thing

How about a thumbs up 😊.

So far, other than the 13 players signed to futures contracts:

Released: Slay, Bradberry

Extended: Barkley

Still waiting on word about Baun.  Was hoping we'd have something finalized by now.  Perhaps Howie and his agent are going back and forth on numbers.  I do wonder though if they will let him gauge his worth on the open market before making him a final offer.  That would be risky.

We are roughly middle of the pack with regard to the amount of cap space we have available as we get ready to enter free agency (95 hrs away now until the evaluation tampering period begins).

What as slay’s contract before we cut him? Any years and/or money past 2025?

Since he’s expressed interest in playing one more season I wonder if we didn’t cut him with the intention to bring him back for one more season with no strings or money past 2025.

2025 was the final year of his current contract.  There were 4 void years added to the back end.  It looks like cutting him using the post June 1 designation will result in a $9.4M dead money hit to the 2025 cap (while also realizing $4.3M in cap savings) and pushing $13M in dead money to the 2026 cap.

Latest rumor according to Josiana Anderson is that Eagles are dangling Dallas Goedert and asking for a 4th round pick.  Must be eyeing somebody in the draft.  Makes sense - get cap relief, accumulate draft assets and get younger at the position with a lower salary hit for a few years.

I'm OK with this.  Keeps him out of Washington and gets him the bag he deserves.

Do not like.  I know it's unlikely, but I want Williams back.  (Becton too.)

This one hurts more as he had a much better chance of returning than Williams or Sweat.  Was really hoping we could bring him back to be a stop gap for now and draft someone to develop to take over in a year or two.

Looking like he pivoted to NE

I hope we aren't thinking of moving DeJean to the outside.  He's as close to perfect in the slot as anyone could hope for,

This might be one of those reset type seasons for Howie. One year prove it deals with a bunch of names hoping someone can stick. Also hoping that Huff has a better year two and the continuing development of all of these young guys up front. Looks like Ringo might have a chance to start.

Can’t argue for keeping him at that number. Good luck to him.

Agree.  That is an insane contract for what would be a #2 DT on the Eagles.  Good for him though but I personally would not make the choice to go to another team for that $ knowing it means I will never win another SB there.

That's another 3rd round compensation.  I have to say I am so much more confident now in the Eagles ability to draft and develop defensive talent with Fangio and his staff.  E.g. - they got Jalyx Hunt in the 3rd and he was making plays in the SB as a rookie.

Exactly.  No way we would have matched.
