Sweat to AZ. 4 yrs 76.4. 41 guaranteed

Hello to our second 3rd rd comp pick!

:excited:

Slay to Steelers

The league finally figured out how to beat this defense. Sign them away in free agency. I'm so happy all these players are getting paid. It was such a special season and we'll always have 59 together.

I'm still getting used to saying "TWO" time super bowl champion.

That’s probably two with Williams.

Hurts to see our guys walk away. Howie has a plan though. Gotta let it play out.

Yeah, hate to see some of them go, hoped we'd somehow be able to keep Sweat but didn't expect it. If that would have been the case, we'd have wrapped him up last week.

Correct ... Williams being the first, Sweat being the second.

I think Sweat will end up being a 4th.

With all this extra draft capital pretty sure Howie is gonna make a huge move in the draft....

This one hurts more as he had a much better chance of returning than Williams or Sweat.  Was really hoping we could bring him back to be a stop gap for now and draft someone to develop to take over in a year or two.

Agreed. I think Rodgers was pretty good. He was always in good position in pass coverage. However, I am excited to see what Ringo can bring.

He apparently had a good camp, so hopefully that continues. This will be a 'prove it' season for him since this will be the last year on his rookie contract coming up.

Can anyone explain the comp picks situation with losing Slay williams Sweat Rodgers?

These salaries are insane. Williams is good but 26 million a year? No way is he worth that.

Kempski does a pretty good job of explaining it here:  https://www.phillyvoice.com/eagles-2026-compensatory-draft-pick-tracker/

NOTE: Slay still has not signed a deal elsewhere

For who? (for what?!)

Slay was released, so unless I'm mistaken (which I could be), we won't get anything for him signing elsewhere.

"No deal yet” for Darius Slay

Cornerback Darius Slay reportedly agreed to terms earlier today with the Steelers. He has not.

Per a source with knowledge of the situation, there’s "no deal yet” in place for Slay.

Slay is indeed talking to the Steelers. The Eagles also might keep him.

Slay remains under contract with the Eagles, but he has permission to speak to other teams to discuss a possible trade. Nothing is expected to be finalized until Wednesday.

The 34-year-old Slay has spent seven years with the Lions and five with the Eagles.

I think these salaries look insane because the cap goes up every year... Plus teams get desperate

Kenny Pickett to the Browns huh?

So transactions involving Pickett:

  • Swapped a 3rd rounder with a 4th rounder to get Pickett.
  • Traded that 4th rounder to the Dolphins for a 2025 3rd rounder. (The Dolphins have the 13th pick in each round so they moved up 19 spots).
  • Now getting a 5th round pick (Browns picking 2nd in each round so this is like a late 4th rounder) plus a 3rd string QB
  • McKee finally gets to be the #2 which fans wanted

The only way they'll ever see a Super Bowl ring.

Going to the Browns is like a QB death certificate. I actually feel bad for him.

He has 2 years left.
