The only way they'll ever see a Super Bowl ring.

He can charge Garrett money to see it up close.

Can anyone explain the comp picks situation with losing Slay williams Sweat Rodgers?

Slay was cut. He won't count.

I am excited to see what Ringo can bring.

But will he be better than Pete Best?

And we know that Garrett has the money to spend.

Slay was released, so unless I'm mistaken (which I could be), we won't get anything for him signing elsewhere.

You are correct.  Williams, Sweat, and Rodgers will all count toward that comp pick formula.

So transactions involving Pickett:

  • Swapped a 3rd rounder with a 4th rounder to get Pickett.
  • Traded that 4th rounder to the Dolphins for a 2025 3rd rounder. (The Dolphins have the 13th pick in each round so they moved up 19 spots).
  • Now getting a 5th round pick (Browns picking 2nd in each round so this is like a late 4th rounder) plus a 3rd string QB
  • McKee finally gets to be the #2 which fans wanted

Unfortunately the 3rd we gave up for Dotson was the better of the picks in the 3rd rd so they get Miami’s pick.

Who cares, we won the SB and are going to repeat. :smoke:

Going to the Browns is like a QB death certificate. I actually feel bad for him.

Well, at least hes rich AF compared to the average bloke.

That sucks. He was a solid player. I was hoping they could bring him back with Dean likely starting the season the PUP list.

Hopefully, BVS will be ready to go earlier than that. I'm not sure who all we'll add along the way, but if Ben is ready to go in camp, he could get a lot of reps.

I knew the Eagles were going to lose some good players, but it's just starting to feel like too many are leaving. Hopefully we get good replacements. I wasn't looking for Rogers or Burks to be gone. Not a huge deal, and it's early. Initial FA awkwardness, I guess.

I'm looking toward the vaunted three-peat. Can you imagine blocking the Chiefs from it by starting our own successful run at it? How awesome would THAT be?

(Yes, in 2 years when we complete our successful three-peat, I'll be quoting this post and proclaiming myself as the EMB's Nostradamus)

Milton Williams 104,000,000. That’s insane.

I wanted Rogers back, but Baun and Becton are my main concerns. Got Baun done, would like to see Becton soon.

This feels different, feels like Fangio's influence. Rodgers and Burks were obviously very affordable, and if Howie/Fangio wanted them he would have re-signed them. We knew Williams and Sweat would walk and some team would overpay them, good for them get your rings and get your payday.

But why not Rodgers and Burks? That tells me it's strategic. They didn't "lose" out on those guys. Of course they're aware of Dean's injury and recovery, Trotter's development and how Fangio and coaches feel about Ringo and Ricks.

Howie has a plan and told us to be patient. I don't know that it's some big trade or signing, it might be them finding more players like Baun and Becton that they expect to be available in free agency and Fangio thinks he can coach them up, plus you have young guys on the roster and then the draft.

Re-signing Baun gives me confidence that it's not just hubris thinking they can make it work with signing scrubs. They didn't let him walk. And they have a plan and strategy.

Wtf burks was acquired by bengals for dirt cheap... 2.5m per. I guess howie is confident in trotter.

Signing Baun early completely changed this entire situation. If he were not yet re-signed it would be panic, if he signed elsewhere we would be PISSED.

Signing him showed priority and willingness to pay a LB to keep him and makes losing the rest of them easier to handle.

I would have re-signed him for that.

Right? Excellent depth piece. F sakes. That was a Howie type of player. Cheap and fills in perfectly.

Howie could of had him on the cheap. Rodgers too. I guess now Trotter will play. Still holding out hope for Bechton. Keep that line intact.

I can see us losing him and giving steen the nod. I figured becton would be lanes eventual replacement.

Becton is the last realistic guy (baun & becton were my #1 & 2 priority to keep) id like to keep. Burks was a bummer cuz i knew he was gonna be cheap.

We had to think that eventually Howie would need to do one of those one year prove it seasons. We have a lot of young people who will be coming up on contracts real soon who need extensions. Unfortunately some difficult decisions had to be made.
