Reports are Falcons are open to a Pitts trade.  He's on 5th yr option at 11mil so they are motivated to move him

I wouldn't do it but for no other reason that the upcoming draft is deep with TE talent that will be considerably cheaper than what Pitts brings to the table.

I'd draft one..not interested in Pitts..

If I was a cynic I might think that Howie may have his eye on the TE from

Bowling Green where we just hired their HC to be the QB coach...hmmm

I don't see a TE before 64.  Not sure you can pencil that player in but I get the thought.  I tend to think Howie might lean into drafting the expensive DL positions and paying for the positions that aren't as high in the market

The last two starting TE's were drafted in the second round and played quite well.  You're on to something

I know but they were taken before 64. I know they could move up or back from rd 1 but the needs on the DL might take precedence over drafting a TE before 96 and I could argue they should given the investment in O already.  Then you're really lowering your odds.

Everyone needs to talk the same language here.

What's he going to cost?  2?  3?  5?

It ranges from hell no to hell yes.  Overall, I'd be very, very interested in a salvage project with him.

We absolutely cannot afford to pay a backup TE $11 million next year.

No thanks, unless the Falcons pick up most of that salary.

Would definitely not be more than a 4.  As opposed to Dotson who had 2 years before the option this is the final option year for Pitts

How about including Huff?

That’s why you’re allowed to sign players to extensions..

trade a mid-late round pick this year or next for Pitts and sign him to a 2-3 year extension with a couple void years.

draft a te

go with Dallas, Grant, Pitts, Rookie…. If the last 3 show out in camp/preseason you can always see if there is a trade market for Dallas and save the 6 million or whatever it is post June.

The falcons do have a need at De.. also I think they have a link to when he was with the jets on their staff… however last I looked they had less cap space then us so I doubt they have interest in Huff.

though I would definitely have interest in a player for player trade.

i think the best chance to trade huff this year would be with the 49ers who have Salah as Dc now.

Rather draft one. Really solid class of TE this year

If can could do a straight up trade Huff for Pitts? I’m sure a lot of us would take that. But I’m not giving up draft picks in a good TE draft.

Pitts would be an interesting addition to the Eagles who know how to utilize his talent.  Atlanta, has had a revolving door of QBs and coaches and he never was used in the best manner.

with brown, smith, and barkley dallas goedert doesn't even get utilized as much as he could.

honestly pitts would be better utilized elsewhere.
