beto_eagles Posted March 5 Posted March 5 Honestly, it never sounded like a good idea health-wise. But if it meant retiring as a champion, playing his last game on the biggest stage, it was totally worth it. 6
jsdarkstar Posted March 5 Posted March 5 Love BG. So glad he got his second trophy. Time now to retire. 4
EazyEaglez Posted March 5 Posted March 5 BG sacrificing it all to be out there to win another Bowl is NFL throwback style of football. How bad is Huff that he was a healthy scratch while BG had one arm and they still preferred him. 4 1

Well don't act like the fans didn't want him gone either...I believe the constant cry was " We could've had Earl Thomas".. I'm glad he played his whole career here..time to ride off into the sunset 5

He deserves to enjoy the rest of his life with his family Players deserve to do that whenever they choose. It's their life. If he chooses to play another year, he deserves that too assuming he makes the team and earns his pay. Right now his body is still in playing shape and he just needs to rehab an injury. If he retires, that (playing) window is forever closed. It's not such an easy decision for those that love playing the game. As fans, we seem to pretend to know what's best for players. Brent Celek chose to retire rather than play for another team and I respect his decision. He loved it here. Barry Sanders and Patrick Willis chose to retire at the peak of their careers. I respect that. Kuechly retired early because of health concerns. I respect that. Jason Peters kept going for several years after his decline began, but he enjoyed himself. I respect that. These are personal decisions and it's arrogant for me to make them for someone else.
birdman#12 Posted March 7 Posted March 7 I love Brandon Graham......but I'd like to see him retire and preserve his health........He has NOTHING to prove and has 2 Super Bowl rings. His love of the game and the leadership and energy he brings is so valuable to a team. But he could bring that as a coach.........I hope he retires but stays with the organization. 1

brkmsn Posted March 7 Posted March 7 6 minutes ago, Erie said: Fixed your post. I pretty much said the same thing a couple posts above. There are obviously two sides here to a return. Jason Peters eventually ran out of opportunities here and moved on to keep playing because that's what he wanted to do. Brandon can make the same decision if he so chooses. Then again, maybe this team would like to have him back if he wants to return. Last season he played on a 1 year / $4M contract. It's not like that was breaking the bank.
kiwinavega Posted March 7 Posted March 7 There's a lucrative media career just waiting there for him... 1

He has frequently stated he wants to be involved in the Eagles organization in some capacity after he retires. Wonder if he is thinking coaching, scouting, or in what capacity exactly?
