I could be mistaken but the stock isn't just for the vehicles, it's also for energy storage, self-driving technology, SpaceX and Neuralink. From that perspective, it makes sense the market cap dwarfs other car companies.

Not disputing your dismissal of being a nail in the coffin, just pointing out the difference there.

But batteries, that's a big one. Also think about all the charging stations too, I forgot to list that.

Eh, it'd be investment by proxy at best since SpaceX isn't publicly traded and NeuralLink is fledgling.

Energy storage is a tiny fraction of their revenue and FSD is already part of their retail business model so wouldn't really be counted separately. There's really no case to be made based on fundamentals here.

They announced last year that they've disbanded that team and scaling back rollout of new stations. Service and repair (especially from vandalism) were proving to be problematic at the time.
