They're kinda piggybacking off of MSFT who already built that tech years ago. Basically what it does is overlay IR over NVG, but instead of having the whole of whatever is showing up on IR, it only highlights temperature differentials and outlines them. So while, yeah, it will outline a person, it will also outline every rock, tree, and bush. I think the better play is to just make NVGs better and give IR to squad/platoon leaders.

From what I've seen online, systems like that give out a lot of headaches to whoever is wearing them.
