First, let's look at needs so we can see where the board fits the needs.

Tier 1 -

Defensive tackle. Even if Ojomo progresses we still need a replacement for Milton Williams.

Tier 2 -

Edge. We lost 2, BG and Sweat and signed 2, Ojalari and Uche. I just can't cound on both of them making the grade

IOL. We don't have a back up center and guard is a question mark. Plus, Stoutland loves big guards and the right OT can move inside then eventually replace Lane Johnson.

Corner. We're set at one outside and the nickle, but have an unproven yound guy (Ringo) and a vet trying to resurrect his carreet (Adroee Jackson_

Tier 3 -

Tight end. They seems determined to move on from goedert, but free agent signings aside, his replacement isn't on the roster

Safety. It would be higher but I think the Eagles and Simmons have a wink-wink deal for a post-draft signing so there won't be a comp pick effect

Linebacker. Everybody loves Totter, but is he up to replacing Nakobe Dean for half a season

Tear 4 -

QB. DTR is fine but we don't have competition for him and also need a 4th for camp

OT. Once Lane said he's good for a couple more years, the combo of Kinnard, Pryor, and Lamm plus cross-training of Steen lowres the priority here

Tear 5 -

WR. The Dotson haters be damned. He shows up whenever he's needed.

RB. 'Nuff said.

The top DT's are gone. Trade alert! Seattle needs an eventual replacement/insurance policy for Sam Darnold. They move up for Jalen Milroe. Eagles trade #32 (590 oints on the value chart) for a 2 pick 50 (400 on the trade chart) and a 3 pick 82 (180 on the trade chart) and a 2026 6th round pick.

Round 2 -

pick 50, The board and the need match. DT TJ Sanders South Carolina. A Milton Williams clone, 6'4" 295

Pick 55. Trade alert! Howie moves up for an offensive lineman. Eagles trade pick 82 and a 2026 3rd to the Chargers for pick 55, Eagles draft OT Wyatt Milum, West Virginia 6'6" 315. Gave up 0 sacks in his college career.

pick 64, The least taked about can't miss edge - Jack Sawyer, Ohio State. 6'4" 260

Round 3 -

Pick 96, TE Terrance Ferguson, Oregon. 6'5" 255 4.63. Gunnar Helm was available but his 4.84 40 scared us off.

Round 4 -

Pick 116, LB. Jeffrey Bassa Oregon. 6'1" 227 4.63

Trade alert! Eagles trade 5th (pick 161) and Dallas Goedert to Indianapolis (TE's are Drew Ogletree a 6th round pick and Jelani Woods) for pick 117.

Pick 117, Surprise pick, Will Howard QB, Ohio State. Remember, it's a quarterback factory and all he doees is win.

Round 5-

Pick 164, IOL Jonah Monheim. Southern Cal, 6'4" 307 5.05. He's played every position but is the 3rd rated ceneter in the draft.

Pick 165, OT Jalen Travis, Iowa State, 6'8" 341 5.5. So if Milum pulls a Landon Dickerson and becomes a fixture at G Stout then has a project to develop and bookend Mailata

I like some of it, Rob. Love the Sanders, Milum, Ferguson and Monheim picks.

But…is picking 3 offensive linemen not a tad too much?! You really think Howie doesn’t want to add a couple of young DB’s to the mix? What if Ringo and/ or Brown don’t pan out?! 31 year old Simmons is not the future but a one year band-aid who has entered the twilight of his career and Jackson wasn’t even a starter on a bad Giants team…

Not a fan of Sawyer for the Eagles btw. Doesn’t have a quick first step nor is he fast and twitchy. He is what he is. Great character guy with a good motor but not much of a ceiling…there are likely better edge rusher available at #64.

3 offensive linemen - we lost Becton, Big Fred Johnson and Gates, whle Driscoll is still unsigned. Out of the group of Pryor, Lamm, and Green we MIGHT get one roster player. So - 3 offensive linemen for a team that values the trenches above all else makes sense to me.

I agree on cornerbacks up to a point. Remember, Howie never stops building the roster. If my draft were to happen, I'd watch for an Asante Samuel Jr or Caeb Farley signing. Both were 1st round picks and they are better than any possible day 3 pick.

I also agree Simmons is a one year fix, but we have 12 picks (traded a 3 and picked up a 6 in my scenario) next year OR maybe it's not Simmons and its Julian Blackmon who will be 27 on opening day.

Have to disagree about Sawyer. They said the same things about Hendrickson, Karlotsis and Hubbard. I think there's some universal racial bias built into many of the evaluations. BTW - did't they also say the same about BG?

Disagree on OL. Lamm and Pryor are capable starters and Green a reclamation project. Keegan is also on the roster. Two offensive lineman will do…

I’m not comparing Sawyer with any of those guys and it’s not about skin tone. The knock on BG is that he was slightly undersized. Look I like Sawyer but I don’t think he’d be a good fit here.
