Black Monday: Who's on the Hot Seat in 2025? Who gets fired?

It's that time of year again, I always try to get this going before training camp and let it play out throughout the year.

Brian Daboll?
Jonathan Gannon?
Shane Steichen?

Here's 2024's firings:

Robert Saleh Fired October 8th
Dennis Allen Fired November 4th
Matt Eberflus Fired November 29th
Jerod Mayo Fired January 5th, 2025
Doug Pederson Fired January 6th, 2025
Antonio Pierce Fired January 7th, 2025
Mike McCarthy Contract allowed to Expire January 14th, 2025

I would say Brian Schottenheimer. I know he's a first-year HC in Dallas but had been on the staff. I could see him at least demoted if not fired if the Cowboys have another disappointing season, especially with Jerry Jones getting up there in age.

Dave Canales

Liam Coen

Mike Tomlin

Sean McVay retires

What about that Bengal coach Zachary Taylor?

  • 2 weeks later...

Steichen - Writing is on the wall with Jones starting, the will probably start fresh with a new QB and coach if they have another crap season

Daboll - Likely if they look like trash again and show 0 progress

McDaniel - The Dolphins continue to implode he is gone

Taylor - Close to a lock if the Bengals miss the playoffs

Couple of others

Brian Schottenheimer shouldn't have been given the job in the first place, but Jerry will likely give him more than 1 season

Stefanski has been given a dud team with the Browns, but I don't think that stops them firing him

Maybe Tomlin is a mutual decision if they're around the mark again but don't win a playoff game.

Think the Cowboys GM will start feeling some heat?

I feel like Miami is becoming a mess, so I wouldn't be shocked if their HC was let go.

Maybe the Stillers HC? Start fresh with a new regime (HC & QB)?

Looks like a down year for firings. Guys like McDaniel, Stefanski and Daboll would be my short list but they seem to be on more solid footing than you would think.

Stefanski in particular because I think the owner now realizes he screwed up royally with Deshaun Watson. That will go down as the worst trade in NFL history.

I think Daboll is safe, as he probably gets a chance with the rookie QB at some point this season. Unless Russ sets it on fire at QB and then the rookie has to sit most of the season.

Pretty clear they still think Daboll is a great Qb guru and it was them that screwed up with Nickels.

Lacesout nailed it. Mike McDaniel's team was the worst in Week 1.

I don't know the fans would've fired him last year, Daboll's now in his fourth year and they're not noticeably trending up, they never looked like giving Washington a game on Sunday. The only thing that points to him keeping the job is that he was allowed to pick a QB, I don't think there's anyway he survives another 10+ loss season. Hell if Daniel Jones keeps looking like a competent QB in Indy Daboll's reputation as QB whisperer isn't worth a toot on a tin whistle anymore either.

They never looked like giving Washington a game but they did keep it close for a long period? So that defense is very good and should keep them in touch in games. The key is going to be the offense and how long a rope they give Wilson?

They were going nowhere on Offense all game, plus I think if they met again with Daniels with a couple more games under his belt they get beat worse he missed a couple of regulation throws to McLaurin, plus the Giants defense gave up 220 yards on the ground so no it wasn't that good.

Or hopefully that’s Daniels showing regression and he’s going to have a bad year… wishful thinking that I know.

And did you see how much that Giant defense gave up today after Russell Wilson had a good game lol.

Mike McDaniel is as good as gone in Miami. Who knows, maybe the guy winds up as the Eagles OC next year

If I'm Miami, their HC gets a few more games. But soon, Buh bye.

Pitt needs to turn the page. Don't they? At some point? I feel like due to the stupid Rooney Rule(is that still applicable?), they don't have the balls to fire a Black HC.

Nevermind my Steelers comments. They seem to be playing their butts off for their HC.

The Jets HC might be one and done.

Tick tock, tick tock.

I didn't have the Titans HC being fired. But then again, I had no idea who he is or knew anything about the Titans. 😎

For sure.

FYI -- This entire forum sucks!

Va, just shut it down, along with the other forums here that stink, and get no traffic in them. Lord knows, they are plenty.

Hopefully, having all this wasted forum space don't slow down TATE, or the GDT's, because the GDT is sloooooowww every week.

Jonathan Gannon is done.

McDaniel should be fired in next 24 hours.

Woody Johnson has basically said otherwise. As bad as they are, I don't see that happening.
