I’d personally take a second. They are so

valuable. Hate to lose McKee but he won’t be around after next season anyways.

Yep. A second from a crappy team with no upside preferably.

No way. He's too valuable to a team making a legit repeat Super Bowl run. If Hurts gets injured he keeps the hope alive. He's not going anywhere.

My concern with McKee as a backup to Hurts is that their games don't seem at all similar. McKee seems like a 'traditional' quarterback, not 'dual threat' like Hurts. I'm not sure how McKee coming in for an injured Hurts in the middle of a game is going to work. Having a week to prepare for McKee would probably work. McKee being successful running the Tush Push? Doubt it.

Odds are Hurts will miss time and McKee looked really good last year filling in. I'd rather keep his this year and if the same thing happens again where he comes in and looks good, I bet we could get a 2+ next offseason. Could maybe get a 1...but probably more than just a 2 (like a 2 and a 3, etc).

For this year, we need him. I want to maximize our chances at a repeat.

A lot of hope for a guy who only has a handful of snaps in live games that weren't even meaningful

Holding out for a first only.

He is legitimately probably a top 20-25 QB in the league with potential to be top 15 and above in the right situation.

That is too valuable of an asset to give up for anything less than at least a first. Eagles have him on a deal for two more years at least. Good chances they could dangle an extension to him next offseason to get him locked in way under value for even more years. You have a young QB that good you are either getting top level backup QB support if needed for a length of possible multi-contracts if he is never needed or a guy who has to step in some times due to injury and continues to play well enough that other QB needy teams are going to eventually go for him with at least a first. Only real outlier to the big pull of draft assets was Garoppolo but he was really traded due to Brady's demands rather than selling him at a higher opportune value.

This is a 17 game league where players get hurt. You don't want to need McKee for 5 games but you might.

NEVER HAVE A MIKE MCMAHON AS YOUR BACKUP

As to the limited snaps. McKee has proven more in 2 real NFL games than most 1st round QBs prove in college.

I'm not trading him. Yet.

But definitely not this season.

You can not go into a season, with Super Bowl aspirations, without a second QB. McKee is it. I would not trade him this year unless we had a loosing record at the end of the year.

Right. He looked promising against a no hope team who had already given up.

I get not giving him away, but if a team offers a first you have to take it and if they offer a second you have to think about it seriously.

He does look good out there but the sample size is so small. I just think this is another case of fans overvaluing a back up QB like this base likes to do.

taking a second in heartbeat. if hurts goes down it's over either way. he is too integral to the function of the offense.

I’d take a second and drive him to the airport

He's not going anywhere and rightfully so. Would only trade him for a high first and then they need to sign a vet backup they would have some confidence in, which would cost money they don't want to spend.

Hell f'in yes!

I went to a Mike McMahon led game once. We lost 42-0 against Seattle lol.

To me it just made sense. The stadium emptied out after the Reggie number retirement ceremony, so I saw no reason to head out and sit in traffic. Since I was there already, may as well stay and let traffic disperse. When I left, I sailed home with no issue.

There were a lot of other injuries that season plus the whole TO drama. Koy was the "backup" but it was irrelevant by the time McMahon had to play.

AJ Feeley was trash and when he stepped in as our backup, our offensive stats (averages) declined dramatically in every category, but the rest of the team stepped up and we kept winning. In1991 Cunningham got hurt and the defense carried us that season. Whenever your star QB goes down, it's on everybody else to pick up the slack and help the backup in most cases.

McMahon was our 3rd QB behind McNabb and Detmer. We finished the season with 16 guys on IR. Owens was suspended/inactive. The fat lady was singing before McMahon threw a pass. I mean, our leading WR was Greg Lewis ...

Us too. We took our medicine way too long. There must’ve been less than 1000 people there by the end.

He's signed through the end of the 2026 season.

If it were me, someone would have to b10w me away with an offer to move him now. This team is strong and has as good a shot as anyone to win it all this year. No way am I going to weaken the team and our chances for a 2nd (especially when we are already armed with 13 total draft picks in 2026 ... 5 day 1-2 picks alone). Shoot man Philly fans know best how valuable the backup QB is (LII).

Now … if our season looks like it is in the tank for some odd reason just before the trade deadline and a team offered us a 2nd, then sure.
