It would be worthwhile IMO to look at stadiums with retractable roofs to see how often games are played with the roof open compared to roof closed. My guess is that roof closed would lead by a pretty healthy margin. Then ask about cost retractable roof vs. dome.

I just asked AI for the history and sadly it's not good. Retractable roofs usually stay closed even though it's surprisingly cheap to open and close

Maybe fans can support a new stadium with a condition that it's only closed for the SB?

Though if one were to build a stadium that keeps the crowd covered but leaves the field open then we'd at least keep the bad weather games but the higher ups would be comfy

I'm on the side of wanting an updated stadium but I do love the bad weather games. I don't know how Lurie feels. He's not exactly a cheap owner so maybe he'd leave it open except for the SB

What about the best of both worlds; a domed stadium with open walls. Keeps the snow and rain out but still have the cold weather.
