Micah Parsons (Cowboys, Edge) - Traded to Packers

Why not?

  1. Being a fiscal conservative, which deeply tinges my concerns in terms of annual salary cap management, I have often felt that the Eagles were operating under severe handicaps over the last few seasons. Nevertheless, Howie somehow seemed to come up with manageable solutions to provide a competitive roster over the last decade or so.

  2. The Eagles have several core players due contract renewals over the next two seasons.

  3. The Eagles, as currently constructed, have the capability to dominate the NFL for seasons to come.

  4. More than half of their starting players are capable of being selected to the next few Pro Bowls.

  5. Why risk what evidently is already a winning strategy?

  6. Beacaus we are in the same division.

Why?

  1. Because we can.

  2. Because these opportunities are very rare, although we did obtain a pretty good running back last season.

  3. Beacuse nobody else has accumulated as many sacks in their first four seasons since REGGIE WHITE!!!!!

  4. We have the ammo to swing it.

  5. Because it will be to the detrement of the Cowboys.

I could say much more, but I'll let others express their thouhts.

Time's yours.

Zero chance Jerry would deal him to the Eagles. Zero point zero zero zero. We could probably offer them twice as much as the next best offer and he'd still take the other offer.

So, tell me what you really think.

Actually, the more I dwell on this topic, the more I feel the Eagles would be just as successfull and ultimately in much better "fiscal" condition by avoiding such averice. Nevertheless, it could work to the benefit of both clubs in the long term.

I agree that this is not a very realistic outcome, but just the thought of Parsons earning a few SB rings in his home state makes my day.

Either way, the Cowboys are a disfunctional organization and a delight to observe.

Jerry is just going to overpay just like he did with Dak.

Call me crazy but I don't really want to give up multiple first round picks to overpay a pass rusher who can't stop the run to save his life. 🤷

Agreed. Micah Parsons would be way too expensive, and he isn't a beast like TJ Watt and Myles Garrett.

Won't happen

I would be absolutely astounded if Parsons ends up an Eagle...

I think right now, my best case scenario is that he causes some upset at the Cowgirls, and then eventually gets traded to an AFC team to a) get him off the Cowgirls, weakening them, and b) get him to a team that won't massively impact the Eagles during the season...

I think his issue is while they have decent cap space this year, they're projected to have a serious cap problem next year when Lamb and Dak have beeeg cap numbers that aren't easy to move around.

50/50 if Parsons winds up actually leaving Dallas.

0% chance it's here.

If he does go somewhere else, I could see him going to Atlanta, Denver, or Minnesota. Maybe the Rams but they'd have to move on from Stafford first and I dunno how they'd get a decent rookie QB without the draft ammo.

He'd be going to a team that's ascending with a rookie QB contract that thinks they've got a window. I'd lean Denver in that case because the AFC is more up for grabs than anyone that's built to come after us.

No chance but that'd be awesome

If Jerruhh wasn’t trying to play hardball he’d lock his players up sooner and not have these cap headaches. Get a real GM.

I'm not arguing Jerruhh is a good GM, I'm just pointing out that giving Parsons a contract doesn't look easy to solve given they are already in a deep hole next year as it is.
