August 5Aug 5 Author This from Raiders Wire before the trade was reported. Apparently the guy can play and will provide decent depth.https://raiderswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/raiders/2025/07/31/raiders-training-camp-should-they-trade-cb-jakorian-bennett/85455388007/Should the Raiders trade CB Jakorian Bennett?Justin MeloRaiders Wire
August 5Aug 5 Our defensive tackle depth is pretty filled with Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis, Moro Ojomo, and now add in rookie Ty Robinson.Would have been hard for Booker to make a bigger contribution than he did last season.Wish him all the best in Las Vegas. As for Jakorian Bennett, dude is a feisty corner. He did not fit the new coaching regime's requirements for a CB (Not tall and long), but he can provide quality depth for us at cornerback.
August 5Aug 5 I liked booker but Bennett seems like a good trade . He loves a PBU and seems very handsey
August 5Aug 5 Huh. Interesting trade. But I'll take it. Adding depth to the Secondary is a good thing.

Note: the Raiders signed Anthony Patch and one other from the Eagles front office this year. They know the Eagles DT depth and potential need for a CB intimately. This could be a trade that works well for both teams.

So the more options you have the better the odds of hitting on a playmaker.

Bennett is average in man and really good in zone... Which is perfect for us.I would love to see him try with the ones, just to evaluate how he fits in. I suspect that he is better than depth and might even try to push for a starting job, if given a chance.

Many also expected Tyler Hall to easily replace Maddox at nickel when we signed him. The #1 goal of this team each pre-season is to add competition and hopefully push everybody to work harder. The Eagles also love to evaluate a lot of players they had previously on their draft board that they weren't able to draft. These types of moves aren't always the story (or headline) that people want to pretend they are. Bennett is likely to see more reps at nickel than on the outside with us. Bennett didn't play a lot of special teams with the raiders, so he'll need to show something here on ST. We traded away a depth piece (Booker) that I felt had a solid shot of finishing on the final 53. I believe that is also what we received in the trade.

What Q was doing last year was sticking his hand in at the catch point while Ringo does nothing. The reporting has been consistent on all cases except one, Ringo isn't allowing any separation, so he should keep in mind that there aren't many receivers in the league that will out-run him, so there's no need to panic.OK, here's how he can easily become a ballhawk, get in the receivers back pocket and wait for the receiver to turn his head for the ball, note the positon of his head and eyes, that will let him know exactly where the ball is in flight, head turned upward, the ball is high, head level, it's a line drive. Next, he should turn his head and eyes in the same direction that the receiver showed, he should easily locate the ball and know that he's no longer playing the receiver, he's playing the ball. Bamm!!, Ringo the ballhawk. While in practice, he should have a QB throw him passes as though he's a receiver, that'll get him used to turning and catching. If the DB coaches haven't taught him this technique, then shame on them. If they have stressed this technique and he can't master it, move him to safety, that's where he should be playing anyhow, afterall, Blankenship is the weakest link in the secondary.
August 7Aug 7 Every player signed/traded for, someone thinks it automatically means someone on the current roster isn't looking good and it's addressing the starter. Fans have not learned over many years that Howie always brings in talent all throughout the year, often as depth, and often as players that later get cut. Sometimes they work out and make the team or even become a starter, it varies. But they traded a backup depth DT, not like it's some blockbuster trade.

August 8Aug 8 I hope he's a legit starting CB. Right now it looks like the Eagles don't have a CB2. Ringo, Jackson, and Ricks aren't taking the job so there's a big void there on the roster.
August 8Aug 8 Really hope this guy can play. So far none of these other corners are standing out much. I see now why the want Q to basically cover the main receiver on either side.

I don’t think we saw anything in this recent game that says they’re good at CB2 or at safety for that matter. We have also heard the media has been stating neither corner has really stood out in camp either.
