I don’t think we saw anything in this recent game that says they’re good at CB2 or at safety for that matter. We have also heard the media has been stating neither corner has really stood out in camp either.Alexander was sitting there. Maybe he took less to play with his friend, though. Still a shame. CB2 is a problem as of now and so is CB3. Last year they could deal with things if someone got hurt. We'll see how it plays out.

He covered better than any of the other corners in the game. Bennett was able to stick with receivers and showed a good feel for coverage. Love the speed he showed on the PBU. That’s the play Adoree Jackson just can’t make. Bennett was too grabby at times, but there is a lot to work with and I think the coaches will value the combination of cover skills and speed.
Monday at 01:21 AM4 days I think the raiders won this trade. Looks like we'll have to keep looking for a long term CB2. Thankfully Jackson was solid after a shaky start.

Monday at 01:31 AM4 days Whelp or a good trade for Howie. All of those guys playing corner today were brutal.

Whilst Bennett was a bad trade I think I’m more annoyed with Ringo because they kept this chump around on the roster.

Why let Rodgers go if they weren’t certain Ringo was ready? All of these cornerback moves they made for this season and none of them really paid off in the secondary.
Monday at 06:03 PM3 days The Booker trade and the Kennard trade have gnawed on me all season. For a team that needed line depth and always puts an emphasis on the trenches, Howie missed on both of these deals. But I'll give it to him, he has at least self corrected on other deals, with Phillips deal being the season saver for me. And Tank deal is also looking like a win. Even liking Michael Carter deal. Think he may hang around as a 3rd safety.
Monday at 06:24 PM3 days When Adoree Jackson was really struggling early in the season I kept wondering why Bennett couldn't get on the field thinking there was no way he could be worse than Jackson. Boy was I wrong. He's absolutely dreadful. We're fortunate Jackson has turned it around and is playing pretty good football at the moment.

And I never got it and I said that at the time. Rodgers beat him for the job last year and the little we did see of Ringo he was never really that convincing. But hey let’s just hope nothing happens to Q or Adoree (who’d have thought we’d be saying that hey).

We really haven’t seen much development in any of the other CBs that have been here (and some have gone on to play relatively well elsewhere like Jobe in Seattle). Wonder if there needs to be some discussion on replacing our CB coach (Roy Anderson).
Monday at 11:55 PM3 days Remember when people thought this guy was a steal and starter material? Dude was awful yesterday.

Most people here didn't care much for Jobe, but it is the responsibility of the coaching staff and FO to do the evaluations, not posters on this board. They failed with that evaluation.

If someone would have told me he would become a decent starting corner in the NFL 2 or 3 years ago I would have laughed in their face.

They failed with that evaluation. We drafted Mitchell and DeJean and previously claimed Rodgers who was reinstated before last season. We had Slay and Bradberry under contract and had a 3rd rd pick invested in Ringo. Maddox returned on a cheap contract after being released. It was a numbers game for Jobe and while he wasn't terrible, he was behind on the depth chart and was going to our practice squad at best. He instead signed with Seattle to go on their practice squad and bounced up and down from their PS and active roster in 2024. I always thought he was a good developmental prospect, but he wasn't going to get any playing time here in 2024. Things worked out for him in seattle. The opportunities he received in 2024 really helped him grow into a legit starter in 2025.
