The essence of Trumpism. It’s legal when I do it… illegal when anyone else does it

He has litigated everything his entire life. He sees the law as just another tool to take advantage of and not something that is important to uphold society. He has absolutely no morals and no principles (well maybe one, tariffs).

Take Gerrymandering out of the hands of politicians and give it to the people who want to vote the candidate of their choice.

So California should be ruled the same in GOP suit ? Seems like the courts are going to decide the 2026 election. There’s got to be some sorta solution to this every time it comes up. Maybe leave it up to the voters ?

The voters voted for it in California.

California should have backed off if Texas isn't redrawing theirs.

That's not how it works. Texas was found to have redrawn their districts against the law. If you think California is at fault for the same, they must be challenged in court.

I suppose it doesn't matter now that the supreme court is fine with ray-cist maps.

I don't support gerrymandering in any form. I get California trying to balance Texas's extreme gerrymander with one of its own, but if Texas was ultimately not going to redraw the maps it would have been nice to see Democrats take the high road and pull back from the precipice.

Gerrymandering is one of my pet peeves, and a number of states - mostly blue states - have made good faith efforts to try and reduce the amount of politicking involved in drawing district maps.

The US is already effectively gerrymandered in favor of Republicans by the way the state maps are drawn. Compounding that at the house level makes it worse.
