I don't get it, at all, but in Howie we trust I guess.

He's a talented player, and even the team has no glaring need at WR, the Eagles were never one to pass up talent - especially when that talented player was teamed up with Devonta Smith at Alabama.

Did he mean to ask for CB2?

Guy has a good winning percentage for making moves, but I don't get this at all. JD was supposed to be doing well and the UDFA was as well. The defense is the problem.

I get he's a talented player, or he was in college at least, but trading for a WR3 makes no sense to me at this point, he's not like a low key steal, his numbers so far at pro level aren't exactly ripping up trees, they're the numbers of a dime a dozen WR3/4.

Is he a ko punt returner ?

Unless Howie is about to trade Dotson for a CB, this doesn't make much sense.

Can’t understand this. Likely means Cooper isn’t making the roster? Just can’t understand why we’d need another WR with all the issues we have on defense (and along the OL). I know Howie likes to always add talent and ultimately the price he’s paid is minimal but still?

It's doesn't preclude Howie making another move for a CB or EDGE.

It is odd considering how long it took Hurts to trust Dotson.

Oh no it doesn’t! I mean ultimately he’s paid next to nothing for him in terms of the trade. I just don’t get the trade when we have so many other needs.

Interesting.

Flipping Dotson for a corner?

On second thought, hope AJ doesn't have more of an issue than we've been told

He hasn't done anything in 2 years w/ Texans

Gave up nothing for him

Wouldn'tread much into it, testing to see if we can turn him into anything.

This

The first thing that comes to mind is that AJ Brown's hamstring is worse than we think. And he might miss a few weeks...

We didn't give up much, but this guy is going to have a roster spot...

Go check out his back story - it's a compelling one. He developed, and apparently recovered from leukemia while he was with the Texans. Guy was a stud in Alabama and made some noise in the NFL.

The thing is that even if his hamstring is okay now, who knows what will be during the season. I like that he has a connection to DeVonta Smith, and you really can't go wrong by taking a flyer on a highly rated SEC player.

Metchie can play and they already had plenty of WR's. I wouldn't be surprised to see Dotson traded for a corner.

All we did was a late rd pick swap and trade away a player that wasn't going to make the 53. We get a chance to evaluate a legit slot receiver for at least a couple weeks. There is a possibility that the Eagles may be working on another trade. But I think they had an opportunity to get a player they liked for virtually nothing.

My understanding, though, is that we outbid the whiners to get Metchie. Read into that what you want.

We needed a pure slot WR and this guy, while not having great speed , is said to be an elite route runner.

And that's the most important trait for a slot WR. I like it and the cost was next to nothing. Hopefully they cut Smith now.

Our last OC now head coach of the Saints liked Dotson I believe. Not that I think we trade him as he's had a good camp.

But his contract is up after the season and doubtful we re sign him so a trade wouldn't be a shocker for that reason. But I say we keep him

I bet we cut Smith and keep Cooper

I dunno either...maybe Howie was bored and thought it was a good idea in the moment...no biggy.

Anyway, if we decide to cut him next week his contract isn't guaranteed, giving some flexibility...unlike the case with Dotson and K Green.

They always take precaution with veterans especially during preseason. No sense in pushing AJ right now.
