From Nick Catoggio in The Dispatch

"America hates the Democratic Party. Polls have shown Team Blue’s favorability (33%) crashing to record lows. Even Democrats have learned to hate Democrats. Hating the Democratic establishment has always been a core part of progressives’ political identity, but mainstream liberals have had good reason lately to sour on it, too. Their party just lost to a felonious authoritarian miscreant again. And not only did it lose, its leaders sabotaged its chances by covering up Joe Biden’s declining health until the issue blew up in their faces four months before the election.”

Thoughts?

Man, I really thought opening the border, harboring criminal illegal aliens, and pushing homosexuality and gender theory in public schools would be a winning platform. Very odd.

Agreed, they should try nominating someone who raped underage girls with Jeffrey Epstein. This whole thing where they peacefully concede elections without illegally attempting to overturn the results and incite riots to stop certification is limp-wristed weak sauce.

It's because they are losers, simple as that.

Other than Newsome, they rolled over for fascism. Damn right I don’t approve. Newsome is the only one showing leadership

Libertarians for Newsome is what this forum needs. lol roll

I like it!

They should also shorten up both the democratic and libertarian party platform to just read "Whatever Newsome wants”.

And perhaps a gold statue at both conventions

Yeah and in January 2021 Republicans were pretty unsatisfied with their party as well.

Weird how that happens when your party is out of power.

The pendulum always swings back.

It's pretty much known they should be doing more. Pretty spread on things to fight maga on though

Had to get AI to find most

Government and Civil Service

Reinstatement of "Schedule F": The administration has moved to reinstate a version of "Schedule F" that allows for the reclassification of tens of thousands of federal employees, stripping them of civil service protections. Critics argue this allows for the replacement of career officials with politically loyal appointees.

Mass Firings and Layoffs: The administration has dismissed independent inspectors general and other officials across various federal agencies. This includes a reported mass layoff of civil servants and a hiring freeze on federal jobs. A new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has been created to reduce federal spending and bureaucracy.

Increased Presidential Control: Executive orders have been issued to require independent regulatory agencies, such as the FTC and SEC, to submit their legal positions to the president or attorney general for review. This has been criticized as an attempt to undermine the independence of these agencies.

Targeting of Opponents: The administration has been accused of using federal power to target political opponents, including revoking security clearances and terminating government contracts for certain law firms that have challenged the administration's policies.

Immigration and Border Policy

Mass Deportations: The administration has initiated plans for mass deportations of undocumented immigrants, including through expedited removal and the deployment of military personnel to the southern border.

Border Policies: Executive orders have been signed to declare a national emergency at the southern border, which has led to increased wall construction and the deployment of military personnel. The "Remain in Mexico" program has also been reinstated and expanded.

Travel and Entry Bans: New travel bans have been ordered for individuals entering from specific countries. An executive order has been issued that purports to use constitutional powers to override federal immigration law and deny most migrants entry at the southern border, claiming it is an "invasion."

Social and Cultural Issues

DEI and Civil Rights: The administration has issued executive orders to end Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programs within the federal government and has rescinded an executive order that required federal contractors to abide by anti-discrimination laws. It has been reported that the Department of Justice has been directed to halt new civil rights cases and investigations.

LGBTQ+ Rights: An executive order has been signed that defines "sex" in narrow, binary terms and directs federal policies and documents to align with this definition. The administration has also implemented a policy to house transgender women in men's prisons and detention centers, which critics say violates federal guidelines.

Education: The administration has issued an executive order that directs the closure of the U.S. Department of Education, though its full implementation requires legislative approval. It has also threatened to withhold federal funding from universities and schools with curricula that address certain topics or promote DEI.

Reproductive Rights: The administration has reinstated the "global gag rule," which restricts funding for international organizations that perform or promote abortion. A rule that required hospitals to provide emergency abortions has been ended.

Economic and Environmental Policies

Tax and Spending: A new bill was signed that makes the 2017 individual tax cuts permanent and proposes significant cuts to federal spending, particularly in programs like Medicaid and nutrition assistance.

Deregulation: A major focus has been a broad de-regulatory initiative aimed at rolling back numerous environmental regulations, including those related to emissions from power plants and vehicles. The administration has also sought to end renewable energy tax credits and open more public lands for oil and gas development.

Trade: The administration has implemented a "reciprocal tariff" policy, which has led to increased tariffs on imported goods and retaliatory tariffs from other countries.

Workers' Rights: The administration has rescinded an executive order that raised the minimum wage for federal contractors and has stalled the implementation of a rule to protect miners from silica exposure.

Inclusion versus exclusion. Even trolls understand the difference.

The 2020 Republicans didn’t volunteer to lose though.

I’m from California and a registered Democrat, but I will NEVER vote for Newsome in any election … not even Dogcatcher. He is 100% untrustworthy. He would sell his mother into servitude if he thought it would benefit him
