I agree, but did something happen even before that to get Jalen to come toward the huddle?

I think he was awful. I mean of you don't get your best receiver involved at all it just shows bad game planning. They were selling all out to stop the run and only had no answer. I hope it's not a Johnson situation all over again.

They had 24 points before the unnecessary delay, I don't think 1 point was scored by either team after

That was awful, from Carter onwards. Dickerson injury, Hurts having to do so much with his feet. Too many dropped picks. Weather delay bad for all concerned. Yet they still won. Football is so strange at times. It's nearly 7am here and I am questioning my life choices. I should be having lovely dreams ffs

J Carter is a ****

CB2 sucks

WRs with minimal involvement.

Run game average

Pass rush is meh

Kinda uninspiring

You can't take anything from this game. Basically a preseason game that counted.

Divisional wins are never awful. This was basically a preseason game. There's going to be rust. You can't take anything from it.

Those would be fine if our best defensive player doesn't get ejected.

You can't expect high quality play from teams when hardly anyone plays pre season , then the delay, this game was trash in the second half

HOL\Y KRAP!!! Carter is a FREEAKING MORON!!! He came very close to costing this team, a game what it should have won handily. His teammates need to ream him with a jackhammer so hard that he never forgets it.

Second... Does A.J. Brown have two broken hands? Why didn't we even try to throw to him? The game-planniong was awful.

Third... I understand that letting Slay go was done in the hopes that Ringo would step up. He hasn't. And Jackson is awful. Useless. We need to find ways to adjust.

I watched the clip again, it's seems Jalen was reacting to Dak spitting first. But again it's over, just apologize and keep your cool out there. I know this game is emotional but we needed Carter today.

I wasn't able to watch the game, but I'll look at some tonight. Watching the score on my tablet and the progress on nfl.com though, it was pretty frustrating. I never expect less from divisional games though. At least we got the win.

I have 2 key takeaways… no 3.

1) Adoree Jackson can hit the streets. The dude is a bum and we need to trade for a CB. Quite why he came back in the game is beyond me.

2) Based on what I saw I don’t want to hear that Jalen has elite weapons. Jalen carried that offense tonight. No WRs even seemed to get open (again will need to watch the all 22).

3) Why oh why do we never scheme WRs open? Like I watch a lot of football and every game you watch guys get schemed open. We never ever seem to have that! Ever. No real easy wide open guys.

In the 2nd half, the defense played pretty good. They didn’t get any sacks but Dak was under a lot of pressure the entire 4th QTR. He didn’t have much time back there to throw. Plus, CeeDee Lamb dropped a couple of passes he probably should have caught.

The offense looked great in the first half, but looked dreadful in the 4th QTR. Dallas had 8 (maybe 9) guys up front in the box to stop Barkley, and the Eagles didn’t do anything to counter that. Very frustrating.

I only caught the game after the delay.

Statistically, the defense was about average. Just under 200 yards passing and just over 100 yards rushing for 307 total yards and 20 points. In the bit that I saw there was both good and bad luck with the good being some huge drops by Lamb and bad being dropped interceptions.

I had low expectations for the defense this year due to EDGE depth and CB2. It sounds like early rush defense was atrocious (similar to last season) and after the delay it tightened up though it could be argued that the delay killed both offenses.

Offense looked awful in the time I watched. Hurts had guys open but I didn't notice anything huge that would've net any more yards than he was scrambling for. And at a time they were trying to chew clock i understand just scrambling if there's an open lane (which there were) vice risking an incomplete pass. Towards the end there was a first and 10 with either 9 or 10 guys in the box and they ran right up the middle; Hurts/Patullo need to check out of that, to quite literally anything else.

Overall a win is a win this early in the season, especially for this team where no one plays preseason. Probably time to give up on Sydney Brown and BVS. Carter thing sounds like half the story was told, still an idiot but less of an a-hole than he would've been if he just spit at someone completely unprovoked. I don't expect the team to look good until week 5 so if we can win ugly until then it's whatever.

Yeah it's our traditional slow start after playing no preseason football with the ones. It was like the Green Bay opener last year, defense finding its feet a bit, offense knocking the rust off.

The defense held up surprisingly well considering Carter's idiocy and a reffing crew that was calling them for every ticky tack thing they could, the taunting on Smith was ridiculous.

The offense, last year we started off not throwing over the middle, this year we're not throwing outside, we're mixing it up a little, they should have taken Dickerson out earlier, he was clearly hurting, I hope they haven't given him a longer term problem, because the line didn't look near as good after he went out.

Funniest thing in the game, Sanders coughing it up almost immediately after giving it the big 'look at what you let go' after his run.

Exactly, Dak was clearly taunting Carter and spit in his direction. My guess is he had a plan to even the odds after their loss of Parsons and it worked. Eagles need to look for tape leading up to what motivated Carter to move toward the Cowboys huddle even before Parsons spit and smile and Carter. I suspect Parsons may have said something to Carter when he walked on the field to get him riled up so he should be the one suspended for taunting.

Not a good game overall, but a win is a win, especially at the start of the season. I'm ok with that.

4 hours of Dak nut hugging was aids, he was like 18-33 for under 200 and no tds wasn’t he? Our D took a huge step back from last year as well, but I do know Carter is that good.

I'll always be thankful for a Conference and Division win, no matter how ugly. And a win vs. Dallas is even better.

A lot to improve on. There is plenty of time to do so.

he deserves a 1 game suspension for that stupidity

He just was suspended for a game.

My takeaways from the weird game...

Eagles always start sloppy under Sirianni, nothing new last night

Starting 5 along the OL better stay healthy, the next guy up will be an immediate weak spot. Really hope Dickerson is okay.

Ojulari being inactive gives me Devin White vibes

Jalen Carter is super important for our defense as a whole

AJ Brown having 1 target/catch is inexplicable. Is his hamstring truly 100%?

Offensive game plan looked like it does when Brown is out

CB2 could very well be a season-long real weak spot. Hoping Bennett/McMillan will emerge since Jackson is lackluster and Ringo vanished to the shadow realm

Special teams looked good

Officiating is still really annoying and inconsistent

Mitchell has to catch that INT

We got really lucky with the drops by Lamb (though if Mitchell catches the INT, 1 or 2 of those Lamb drops don't get a chance to happen)

The reason why the passing game sucked was cause of Jalen Hurts. WRs were open all game. We see this year in and out. We are now seeing it with a 3rd coordinator on offense.. Hurts found other ways to win the game but the offense stalled out in pivotal moments cause they didn't move the ball through the air. Ultimately the team had to rely on Lamb choking multiple times at the end to get a win.

The offense 100% has to be better through the air if they intend to make it back to the superbowl this year. Unless the Eagles make a big trade for a CB, and maybe on the D-line I don't they will be as reliable this year.
