Incredible talent and I think we saw how much he was missed.

Absolutely boneheaded. I don’t want to dwell on it too much but it felt like he was living on the edge for a lot of last season.

Teams are going to be trying to provoke him all season now. Just hope he learns from it. Should be in the DPOY conversation and earning a massive contract at the end of the season.

Great talent but not a clever player. I cannot understand why a professional athlete would do somethign like that in the first game of the season with all eyes on the superbowl champs.

Unfortunately i don't think it will be the last incident with him so will the eagles risk having someone like that on the team for another 4 years at massive expense?

My guess is not.

Apparently during the injury timeout, Dak walked over toward the defensive huddle and spit toward them and gave them a cocky smile. That is what prompted Carter to do what he did (a retaliatory spit lol). Not saying he wasn't wrong (he most certainly was ... that was disgraceful and stupid AF with a ref standing right there). but just wanted to point out what prompted him to do that.

Myles Garrett almost killed Mason Rudolph with a helmet and rarely gets talked about. The league has a short memory when you’re really talented.

He’s our own lil Albert Haynesworth.

Here’s a quarter billion to you pal

Dumb and immature act. If an opposing player spits in your direction, then do the same back. But don't spit ON that player.

Hopefully no suspension from the NFL, just a fine.

I’m hoping because it was at the beginning of the game, he won’t be suspended. But I fear that the league will make an example of this.

That's what I saw too. Hopefully Carter can learn from this. Teams are going to come after him to provoke him. He needs to be better.

Great player, but character concerns have always been a part of his story. And, let's face it, he's probably borderline retarded.

No doubt it was intentional from Dak and I actually think Dak is a nasty piece of work.

But use it as motivation to hit him harder on a sack or do the same subtly back. Idiotic response.

Ndakumong Suh was an absolute d'bag his entire rookie contract getting suspensions and fines for absolutely boneheaded fouls out the wazoo and he still became the highest paid defensive player in the NFL the first time he hit free agency.

If you have game that is a level above most of your peers the NFL will forgive a hell of a lot.

He better learn his lesson. He's too important to this D to be doing dumb things.

What if carter had spit at Dak from same distance and missed would it still be a penalty if he technically didnt spit on him or is the rule spitting in the vicinity of a another player?

Dak spitting was directed at Jalen Carter that the spit wasnt anywhere near getting on Carter doesnt discount that Dak intentionally spit at carter.

Still dumb reaction by carter but if I were a ref and saw what Dak did id at least give him a taunting penalty

Worse was after the game Dak played it off and said he just had to spit and jalen carter just happened to be in front of his stare...

At least carter owned up to his mistake, when asked about Daks actions he said nothing about Dak provoking him and just took accountability

What Carter should have done:

Exactly. Should have retaliated by whooping his arse on the field. But if the plan is to return fire (spit), then the smarter move would have been to do so in the middle of a play when it looks far less obvious. But seriously, players should not be spitting on or around each other ... ever.

Shout out to Jordan Davis being in better shape and playing so many snaps

Carter should have just put his aggression into getting a sack for the first play

There had to have been a second spitter!

This is how Carter should have handled the situation. Do the same to Dak that he did to Mahomes.

Please no. We were lucky he was held on that play so it would have been offsetting penalties if called

It would have been called last night

I would have rather seen that then spitting. And a 15 yard penalty >>> ejection. Just sayin'

Hanesworth was the 1st person I thought of when comparing talent to temperament. Carter IS going to be a discipline, focus issue for his career.
