September 5Sep 5 On a positive note, once they got to the 4th QTR, the DL was putting constant pressure on Dak without him. Dak made some good throws that Ceedee dropped, but DAk was under constant duress in the 4th QTR. He didn't have a lot of time in the pocket to throw.

September 5Sep 5 He should have waited until after the game, then have Dak shanked on his way to the team bus. I'm kidding, of course, but in all seriousness, this rivalry has gone soft, considering there was a time we would not only support Carter's action, but we would have encouraged it. In real time, I don't remember anyone having a problem with the Bounty Bowl.

I cannot understand why a professional athlete would do somethign like that in the first game of the season with all eyes on the superbowl champs.Unfortunately i don't think it will be the last incident with him so will the eagles risk having someone like that on the team for another 4 years at massive expense? My guess is not.He had trouble at UGA, drag racing where 2 people died. After the crash he drove away from the accident. He needs someone on the team to set him straight.
September 5Sep 5 It’s going to be interesting to see how this contract is structured. At this point you have to assume he’s never going to learn. He was happy with himself walking off the field.

September 6Sep 6 To put it in context- Dak spit at him 1st and had a stupid grin on his face. Carter should not have retaliated THAT way, but should have kicked Dak's ass during the game. I give Carter a mulligan on that one. If you are going to spit on somebody, it should be a DALLAS COWBOY. 🤣
September 6Sep 6 Opposing offenses will now draw up spit plays to confuse the big fella.Huddle spits, pre snap spits, motion spits, misdirection spits, half back spits, draw spits, double TE spit wide, option spits, even second spitters from the grassy knoll. They now know Carters weakness, one-upsmanship.
September 6Sep 6 SIJalen Carter: NFL Makes Discipline Decision for Eagles St...One punishment has reportedly been ruled out for the defensive tackle.Unlikely to be suspended but guessing a hefty fine

That is what prompted Carter to do what he did (a retaliatory spit lol). Not saying he wasn't wrong (he most certainly was ... that was disgraceful and stupid AF with a ref standing right there). but just wanted to point out what prompted him to do that.Agreed agreed agreed. Carter was an idiot and what he did was disgraceful and there’s no getting away from that or excusing that. He shouldn’t have done it and there’s no excuse in the world for it. But it also shouldn’t be ignored what Dak did. He provoked Carter and was the instigator. The way he spat in his direction and eyeballed him and the grin on his face? That was not a player just spitting on the ground (which players do a lot).
September 7Sep 7 Pretty soon we'll see HS football players spitting on each other!!Then, it will be Co-workers spitting on each other! And then family members! Maybe even neighbors! I spit in your general direction!!! I spit, you spit, we all spit!!
September 7Sep 7 Lets just hope when he becomes the highest paid defensive player in the League he doesn't turn into a Albert Haynesworth. A lazy player who took plays off

September 7Sep 7 "If" the league does anything, it should just be a fine. They often assign fines the following weekdays after games once they've reviewed. There should be no suspension. I know there's a difference, but they should consider that Dak spit first in his direction and laughed at him. Also, there were things not called in games at all that if they're going to scrutinize Carter they need to do something about those as well to be consistent. Tart punched Travis Kelce, the Cowboys Guyton slapped our guy in the helmet, and Nolan Smith was strangled by a Cowboys O linemen. Smith got the taunting call, in the same game Trevon Diggs ran alongside Hurts jawing at him for a bit (yes there knew each other from college, who cares, do refs know that and take that into consideration when throwing flags?).The NFL has gotten soft and they try to enforce certain soft rules, while ignoring others and too many non-calls on obvious things. It's really inconsistent and weird.

But it was as bad if not worse than what Smith got flagged for. How the officials missed that I don’t know? It was a fairly poorly officiated game I thought.

Surely that isn't only after you make a good play, a player can retaliate after losing or the other team does well, that happens all the time out of frustration.I'm not advocating for more penalties, I think it's too soft. These are grown men playing an aggressive game. But my problem is how inconsistent they are, and it's across the league you see it in all the games.

I don’t like the rule but hey if it’s fair for all then it is what it is… but it isn’t applied consistently.
September 8Sep 8 I just hope Carter can learn from this and realize his opponents are going to try and bait him to get him out the game and officials will be far more scrutinizing of his play now. He’s going to need to find ways to still be aggressive while remaining in control.

Then he stopped taking bait and walked away. In the Super Bowl, Travis Kelce tried baiting him (because he's an a-hole too), and CJ stood still and pulled his hands in to his body as if to say I'm not doing anything. Travis bumped up into him trying to get a reaction. Other teams will definitely try this with Carter, including acting to get roughing the passer and other penalties. He's going to have to be extra careful.
