The Raiders are bad no doubt about that. Sometimes you need to play some bad teams to really get going though. Big time college programs do that all the time. I think they’re a lot of factors for the Eagles from being the champs, to injuries, new coaches.

I just dont get why the offense looks so different this season. Same players. Patullo was here. Is the line so bad they have to run a worse offense, and how does that even make sense lol? Last years scheme fit the players and QB perfectly. I even a notice a few plays that worked almost everytime last year are just gone from the playbook...it all seems odd to me, but im probably looking at it in too simplistic a way I guess. My expectation was we would run an offense very similiar to last seasons, but building upon it and adding to it....and thats why we hired from within.

I think their offensive line has struggled most of the season especially with run blocking due to injuries. They also had plans to use a fullback, but he got hurt early too. The TEs have struggled with run blocking. The penalties have killed them too. This team has had way too many 3rd and long plays due to poor run production and injuries from my perspective.

Id argue the predictably makes the o-lines job a lot harder than it needs to be, and last season our scheme alone consistently produced huge plays....why make what seems like massive changes when it was working? Could it be a matter of a young guy thinking hes smarter than everyone else? I dunno

Edit - Example, the Chargers O-line is decimated and they are about 10 spots ahead of us in rushing production.

Seems the offense is continuing to change.

Let’s hope they keep introducing more wrinkles to get this not functioning at the level expected.

This is a change I can buy into. I want to see them keep evolving and developing. Can we finally get an OC to hang around for a while though? I mean if this team gets far in the playoffs, KP is gone. Yes, we want to see improvement, but that's not going to happen if we keep needing to hire a new play caller every season.

Yeah, I don't think it helps them that they run every play down to the last moment and hike the ball after Steen slaps the center every play. I mean it works if the offensive line is bullying the guys up front, but not when they're struggling in run blocking like they have this season.

That is the biggest problem when you have a team that has had as much success as we’ve had recently (coaches getting poached). The other problem is having a HC who really isn’t very strong offensively (or defensively) and can’t really contribute much there, so when you do lose the OC it impacts the team that much more (as we’ve seen … twice). But … his involvement the past 2 weeks with the offense has helped it seems, so we’ll see where it goes from here.

You cannot expect him the throw 30+ times a game. He is not that QB. 8 of 9 wins he has thrown last then 30 times. The Rams game he threw 32 times. We scored with less than 2 minutes left to take the lead. That is not a mistake. More under center, get the play off with time on the play clock. If you run it down to the last second the D knows when its coming and run the damn ball.

I really do think it’s time for Sirianni to just take over play calling. They’re going to keep losing coordinators when they’re successful regardless so he just needs to take that over.

He’s just not very good at it. Best case scenario is they find the Fangio equivalent on offense … a proven coordinator that no longer has aspirations of being a HC.

Agreed! It’s either that or they need to go in a different direction with their HC. And that’s not me saying they should but to me those are really the only 2 options.

I really think Frank Reich could be that guy. He's a bit on the older side (64) and has twice been a HC in the NFL (Colts, Panthers). It may not be a case of him no longer having aspirations to be a HC again but it could be other teams see he failed twice and go in a different direction.

Yeah I mean that could certainly be worth a go and would likely give us 2-3 years (maybe more) of consistency at OC.
