    • National tragedy, half mast is appropriate, libs should pay a price
      3
    • Tragic, but aside from extreme cases where companies exercise freedom to terminate we should move on
      10
    • Unfortunate, he invited it with his rhetoric but his family didn't deserve this, concerned about the fallout
      9
    • Not happy about it but surprised it didn't happen sooner. The right has cultivated this mentality.

    • Deserved it and I'm unrepentant about that opinion. The world is better off.

This poll makes no sense and conflates everything from the assassination, to the flags at half mast to Kimmel's departure. Aren't we allowed to have an opinion on each thing individually?

Yes, his assassination was a national tragedy (as any prominent figure being assassinated would be). No, flags should not be at half mast. And Jimmy Kimmel was suspended because he is unfunny, his ratings were terrible and he sealed own fate with insensitive comments that damaged his professional credibility.

I obviously have no issue with a company firing an under performer. I'm not a late night show guy, never have been so I don't watch any of them. However, the FCC calling for him to be off the air and saying "we can do this the easy way or the hard way" and threatening to hold back NextStar media's acquisition was not a good look. Then you have the president going on the air telling the entire country he will pull any station off the air if they criticize him. That's flat out fascist / North Korea ish.

This poll was put up before Kimmel. Where are you even seeing anything relating to that in the poll options?

National tragedy but not half mast is splitting hairs. You sound like you're at B.

If someone picks C in this poll are they expressing "support" for his murder?

Support is a strong word. Support means you endorse it.

But saying he invited it because of his rhetoric… you’d have to explain what you mean by inviting it.

If you mean, "there are crazy people out there and being a public person with strong opinions involves risks,” then no.

But if this is a victim blaming thing where, "he’s so mean and I don’t like him so FAFO,” then yeah — anyone who thinks this is a legitimate world view is a terrorist sympathizer and needs to be sent to GITMO.

In one sentence you went from "You have the right to say mean ish to you should be sent prison for saying mean ish". Quite the accomplishment

More evidence of that 90th percentile IQ he has in common with Dear Leader.

You have the right to say mean things. If you’re endorsing murder because of words, off to the black sight you go.

That would be about half the internet...yourself included.

I have never endorsed murder because of words. Do you people just instinctually and reflexively lie about everything?

Just for being democrats or liberals. You're right, that's a much better look for you.

You are out of your mind. 😆

Mostly in the choice C camp. I dont agree that he "invited it". We can certainly say he understood and accepted the risks when he began employing body guards at his tent. Clearly he had seen some crazy stuff, and/or dealt with some serious threats already and he continued with his mission knowing the risk.
