What is it with Howie and Kenyon Green?

Trade a vakuable player (CJGJ) for hin in the off-season

Cut him on August 26, he's doesn't even make th eopening day roster. I actually get this one, since players on the roster for game 1 are guaranteed the whole year's pay

Signed him to the practice squad the next day, August 27

Moved him to the active roster on August 31. Now cutting him on August 26 makes no sense since he's now guaranteed a full years salary

Waived him again on September 6

Signed him to the active roster AGAIN on September 17

I kind of figure Howie doesn't want to admit the trade was a bust, but, this is bizarre.

I got a message (now who the f knows if it is true) from a friend that there was more going on with CJGJ behind the scenes that we know of......domestic violence crap that the Eagles kept quiet to not throw CJ under the proverbial bus.

I don't think it's that bizarre. He's a bottom-of-the-roster type of guy that they'd like to keep and develop, but also have no problem shuffling him on and off the roster and potentially losing him. We'll probably see it a few more times over the course of the season since no one has attempted to snag him away from us when he's been cut.

He didn't trade CJGJ FOR Green, it was to get rid of his salary and get a draft pick and Green was a throw in.

But I think the real reason is Howie did it just to annoy you.

We had an open spot on the 53 after placing Cameron Williams on IR. That 53rd spot is a revolving door for who they think can help more in any given week. This is a week-to-week thing. And that revolving door includes not just that 53rd spot but really the entire 16 man practice squad.

roll

For a team that just won a SB, the 2nd they went to in 3 years and is set up to get to several more over the next 5 years, you don't pay C+ loudmouth weirdos like CJGJ.

That money goes to Jalen Carter types.

Milton Williams looks like he was worth locking up at 16 million a year (did not happen)

Zach Baun is worth his 17m or so

CJGJ is no worth 6 million+ when you have others to pay, let alone his 8.5 or whatever it was.

He would have no effect on them when the time comes to resigning anyone. They could have waited until next year.

I can really fix this kind of salary cap ignorance, so have a nice day?

And he's cut again this week

Howie didn’t trade for Green and I think that’s the important part to note. The Eagles wanted to move on from CJGJ (and it seems for off field reasons). The Texans were interested but didn’t want to give up a lot. So we swapped picks and took a player who has the raw skills that possibly Stoutland may have been able to Maximise… But it didn’t happen and now he’s in and out.

You can’t pay everyone and CJGJ is one of those guys they chose not to pay. Letting Rodgers grow was a bigger loss than CJGJ truthfully.

And the Texans cut CjGj so both players from that trade are currently on the street
