Posted Monday at 10:26 AM4 days Eagles grades by position after crazy win over RamsHere are our grades by position after the Eagles' wild 33-26 win over the Rams on Sunday afternoon.Published September 21, 2025That was a wild one.The Eagles staged a furious comeback on Sunday afternoon and then Jordan Davis made the play of the game with a blocked field goal that he scooped and scored to send everyone home happy from the Linc.Early in the third quarter, the Eagles trailed by 19 points but came back to win 33-26 to improve to 3-0 on the season.Let’s get into the grades:QuarterbackJalen Hurts: 21/32, 226 yards, 3 TDs; 9 rushing attempts, 40 yards, 1 TDAfter two quarters, the Eagles were in a hole and Hurts had completed just 4 of 8 passes for 17 yards. He had a passer rating of 56.2. But the passing offense (by necessity) came alive in the second half and Hurts threw them back into this game. There was a lot of angst about the state of the passing game through the first 10 quarters of the 2025 season but Hurts and the offense answered those critics in the second half against the Rams. He also showed off his ability on zone reads and QB keepers, picking up some chunks on the ground.Grade: A-Running backSaquon Barkley: 18 carries, 46 yards; 4 catches, 9 yardsAnother game of tough sledding for Barkley. Give credit to the Rams for doing a much better job against him in this game than they did in either of their two matchups against him in 2024. Barkley averaged just 2.6 yards per carry in this game but his 4-yard run after a spin move on 3rd down on the game-winning drive was a beauty. No other running back got a carry.Grade: C+ReceiverA.J. Brown: 6 catches on 10 targets for 109 yards, 1 TDHey, that No. 11 and No. 6 are pretty good. The Eagles’ passing attack came alive in the second half and they got the ball to their star receivers. After Brown didn’t have a single catch in the first half, he played bully ball against the Rams in the second half and absolutely manhandled some Rams defensive backs. DeVonta Smith had 8 catches for 60 yards and came up in the clutch as well with a few big catches, including the game-winner.Grade: A-Tight endDallas Goedert: 1 catch on 2 targets for 33 yards, TDThe Eagles were happy to have Goedert back after he missed Week 2 in Kansas City with a knee injury. He had just one catch but it was a beautiful touchdown catch in the third quarter to kick off the comeback as the Eagles scored the game’s final 26 points.Grade: BOffensive lineLane Johnson lasted just one series before he had to exit the game with a neck injury. The Eagles initially put Matt Pryor at right tackle but eventually got Fred Johnson into the game and that helped spark the comeback. Big Fred has been working at left tackle in practice but was clearly their best option after Pryor gave up the strip sack to Jared Verse to start the second half. Not only did Fred Johnson help in pass protection but he also helped the Eagles get their run game going too. There were some shaky moments and penalties from Landon Dickerson and Cam Jurgens early but they battled through. It seemed like a clean game from Jordan Mailata at left tackle.Grade: B-Defensive lineJordan Davis: 5 tackles, 1 sackThe Eagles got just one sack in this game but they got several big hits on Matthew Stafford. While Davis’s field goal block will be the play everyone remembers, he played great on defense in this one too. He chased down Stafford to get his sack and combined with Jalen Carter and Co. to stuff the Rams on a key 4th-and-short. Even though the Eagles gave up some chunks in the run game early, their interior line came through in the clutch.Grade: BLinebackerZack Baun: 7 tackles, 1 INT, 2 PBUsThe Eagles didn’t have many great plays from the first half but Baun’s diving interception off Stafford was one of them. Baun was all over the field in the first half and his play helped hold the Rams to field goals, which was a huge difference in the game. In addition to Baun’s impressive game, Jihaad Campbell had eight tackles, good for second on the team.Grade: B+SecondaryQuinyon Mitchell: 5 tacklesMitchell was on Davante Adams for pretty much the entire game. According to NextGen Stats, Mitchell was on Adams for 27 of 34 routes (79.4%) and gave up just 2 receptions for 12 yards on 5 targets. Adams did catch a 44-yard touchdown that was aided by a push-off against Reed Blankenship. Puka Nacua did get his; he had 11 catches on 15 targets for 112 yards but the Eagles were very good in the red zone.Grade: BSpecial teamsJordan Davis: Blocked field goal, return touchdownWeird game for special teams. Because the Eagles were awful at kick returns in this game. The muffed just about every ball that got kicked off to them and their average starting spot after kickoffs was at the 18.2 yard line. But then Jalen Carter blocked a 36-yard field goal and Davis blocked the 44-yard game-winning attempt that he scooped and scored. Because of how crucial those field goal blocks were, the grade ends up being positive.Grade: A-CoachingRecord: 3-0There were definitely some interesting coaching decisions in this game. The offensive play calling early was awful. The decision to put Matt Pryor on the field ahead of Fred Johnson was a bad one. The Eagles got too many penalties and lacked discipline. Nick Sirianni’s time management at the end of the game was questionable. But there were good things too. The Eagles adjusted so well in this game on both sides of the ball and never gave up. That is a positive of coaching too.Grade: Bhttps://www.nbcsportsphiladelphia.com/nfl/philadelphia-eagles/eagles-grades-by-position-after-crazy-win-over-rams/685390/
