Posted Thursday at 12:10 AM2 days Eagles win their third Lombardi!!Going into week 4 its been amazing to see what this team has become, are they the new Chiefs? The new Patriots? A team that can now just will itself to victory and gasp be the new dynasty? The team is well built, drafts very good, and manages the cap and affairs with top notch capabilities and that all is because of Howie. I don't think they're quite there yet, but if they nail another draft I think they will dominate for years to come. Re-signings:Jalen Carter DT/DE - Howie always gets a head of the market and Jalen is a stud who they want to keep happy! 5 years 185 million extension!Jordan Davis DT/NT - Jordan has really become the dominate interior lineman we all hoped he'd become. 4 years 90 million extension!Tyler Steen RG - He's done well enough IMO to lock him long term securing 4/5 of a young line. 3 years 27 million extension!Dallas Goedert TE - Dallas is a dawg on the field the problem is he misses significant time every season, but the options are thin. 1 year 8 million.John Metchie III WR - Dotson is going to leave and John gets a shot to prove himself in the slot. 1 year 6 million.Grant Calcaterra TE - Proven depth is also pre-draft a need. 1 year 4 millionBraden Mann P - He's gotten better and better at dropping dimes 3 years 8 millionCut/Let walk:Reed Blakenship S - For someone and I'll probably be proven wrong, I just don't see Howie signing him for what he thinks he's worth and he leaves in free agency. 5th round compNakobe Dean LB - The writing is on the wall he will not start for this defense barring injury, I do believe he comes back this season and looks very good, but he too moves on. 5th round compJahon Dotson WR - Easily the best slot receiver the Eagles have had in some years, but he wants to go somewhere where he will be higher up in the pecking order. 6th round comp. Free Agency: Probably some solid depth guys but nothing flashy.A few weeks after the combine coach Moore gets a long hard look at the lack of talent at the QB position in the up-coming draft and he the Saints come calling Howie for McKee. They offer #33, #101, and a 2027 2nd and Howie gladly accepts. I believe they will then get a kings ransom by trading out of the first pick making their loss of picks moot.Draft: This draft as opposed to 2025 will be about getting quality instead of quantity, with this being a very top heavy draft with elite potential well into round three. Howie will be aggressive. Trade! Eagles have a player within their reach that can transform their edge position and Howie gets the Lions to agree to a trade. Eagles get #28 & #170 for #32 & #991.(#28) Dani Dennis-Sutton Edge - Z. Smith has proven and will continue to prove the need for an edge rusher to have size, length and athletic ability and neither N. Smith or J. Hunt posses all three. Dani does posses all three traits at 6'5 270 lbs. with very good length, stellar athletic prowess and 4.6 speed. He will feast on QB's as back pedal away from the interior rush, powering through OT's and or creating even more havoc for the other edge rusher knife through the chaos. He will require two men to block at that point with Carter drawing two himself who aren't you blocking. Displays excellent containment setting the edge forcing runners back inside often he rarely allows anyone to break through outside. He's a fluid and light-footed mover who can beat off-set blockers with his agility and strong hands, or drop into coverage and make plays in the flats.Dani also is known to be a high character guy with natural leadership qualities and a high football IQ someone who this defense sorely needs to be that vocal leader in time. Trade! The Steelers need a QB badly for a future and come calling for the top pick in round 2 and offer #45, #98 & #113 and 2027 4th for #332.(#45) Domani Jackson CB - Q is a stud CB1 but opposite of Mitchell there is nobody long term that I have confidence in. Domani has all the physical traits DC's crave length, speed and elite athletic ability and a strong willingness in run defense is also apparent. He has the ability to cover anyone and everyone with his hyperactive twitch, foot speed, and reactive coil, and his deep speed ensures no one can stack him in trail. Ideal cornerback frame at 6'1" and 197 pounds, providing length to disrupt passing lanes and physicality against bigger receivers. Demonstrates impressive run support instincts, consistently filling gaps and making tackles with conviction when offenses attack his side. Competitive fire burns bright during physical battles, refusing to back down from contact and often initiating it himself. He someone who's ceiling is so high that if coached up right he could compete for CB1. Just sayin!!Trade! Eagles package #64, #101, & #132 to the Texans for #502.(#50) Trevor Goosby OT - The offensive desperately needs a young reliable swing tackle with depth being so thin, Howie clearly saw how bad Pryor was and the difference F. Johnson made in stabilizing the line. Drew is the big boy OT the Eagles seem to like and at 6'7 315 lbs he fits the build. He displays an explosive kick-step that creates immediate depth and width, forcing speed rushers to take the scenic route around the pocket. Elite change-of-direction skills allow him to mirror inside counters and redirect against sophisticated rush plans with cat-like agility. His natural knee bend and hip flexibility maintain leverage despite a towering frame, he's rarely caught playing too tall. Versatility to play both tackle spots proven in high-stakes environments, he'll become a valuable swing tackle capability for now and possibly Lane's replacement in the future. Trade! Eagles package #69 & #98 to the Seahawks for #562.(#56) Max Klare TE - Goedert is still a very good TE1 but injuries and time are catching up. Max is a silky smooth route runner with deceptive acceleration who gets defenders leaning the wrong way and creates natural separation at the stem of his routes. Sticky hands with tremendous body control to adjust to off-target throws he shows the concentration to maintain focus through contact in traffic. A threat after the catch with surprising juice he doesn't go down on first contact and shows some dog in him fighting for extra yards in the open field. Middle-field nightmare who understands how to settle in zone windows and present a clean target he consistently finds the soft spots in coverage. Klare's pass-catching profile is extremely appealing, and he compounds the appeal by being also being elite blocker. Remind you of anyone?3.(#96) Olaivavega Ioane OG - The starting guards are young and talented however there's nothing behind them either for now or the future. "Vega" is the big boy the Eagles love to put in at guard with a thick throughout frame - especially in his lower half, he has full stopping power in pass pro, with an impressive and powerful jump for someone 6'4 330 lbs. Ioane has taken significant snaps at both left and right guard, sometimes playing both roles in the same game. He’s also taken a handful of snaps at both tackle spots and center, and that type of versatility Stoutland craves. 4.(#113) Zakee Wheatley S - With Reed gone there's room for someone to come in and provide immediate depth relief. Zakee has the prototype safety build at 6'2 205 lbs, he has all the tools NFL defensive coordinators covet in today's passing league the speed to erase mistakes, the instincts to create turnovers, and the versatility to handle multiple assignments. Sticky in man coverage situations, using his length and hip fluidity to mirror receivers through their breaks effectively. Brings the lumber in run support, grading out exceptionally well when asked to come downhill and fill gaps.Trade! Eagles package #164, #181. & #246 to the Chargers for #1274.(#127) Germie Bernard WR - Reliable hands: Consistently secures catches, showing good receiving skills and dependability as a target in crucial situations. Germie's route precision in the intermediate game is surgical, consistently creating separation with subtle head fakes and shoulder dips that leave defenders grabbing air. Absolute monster in contested catch situations despite average height 6'1 he plays much bigger than his frame suggests with elite body control along the boundary. Football IQ jumps off the screen he consistently finds soft spots against zone coverage like he's reading the defense's mail before the play. Competition for slot would be fun to watch.4.(#136) Jeremiah Wilson CB -Ball skills border on elite territory with natural hands and exceptional timing to high-point passes at their apex. Jeremiah's route recognition shows advanced development as he consistently jumps underneath patterns before receivers complete their breaks. His zone coverage instincts allow him to play robber effectively, breaking on throws with conviction and proper angles, and his ball production translate immediately to NFL packages designed around creating turnovers.5.(#170) Taylen Green QB - Howie loves to turn mid round prospects in to early round gold. Taylen is raw but boy are his abilities sky high, boasting off the chart athletic ability and arm talent! 7.(#243) Joenel Aguero S - Depth and special team help.Depth Chart:QB: Hurts, Howell, GreenWR: Brown, Smith, Metchie, Wilson, BernardTE: Goedert, Klare, Calcaterra RB: Barkley, Shipley, BigsbyLT: Mailata, F. At receiver Brown, and Smitty are sensational, Metchie I believe will do well in the slot, while Wilson and Bernard offer very good depth options. Tight end will begin to see the start of new TE1 with Goedert often hurt it would be only a matter of time before Klare dethrones him. Barkley will again lead a great trio of backs that can be counted on to pound down defenses. Finally the o-line stays the same for one more season and they will again be very good, but now there will be young and athletic back-ups behind them in Goosby and Ioane. Top 5 unit for the 2-3 years.Defense - It all starts up front and Carter, Davis and Ojomo are a formidable front, collapsing the interior pushing the QB back often. What they've lacked is an edge rusher with size, speed, strength, and athletic ability to punch through tackles to put real consistent pressure on QB's. Dennis-Sutton can do just that! Nolan Smith will be the biggest winner with someone else getting those extra chip blocks, and I think Hunt would thrive being used in passing downs as an extra rusher to have to account for. Inside LB. is so stacked with talent with Buan and Carpenter possibly the best linebacker duo in the league, with solid depth behind them. The secondary will have now have completed its transformation with a new corner in Jackson opposite of Mitchell and a new strong safety in Brown replacing Blankenship. DeJean stays in at NB where he is probably one of the best, and finally there is plenty of depth. Top 3 unit for 4-5 years.Special Teams - Will again thrive with again getting even younger faster and hungrier to prove themselves to become starters. Elliott and Mann again return so the kicking and punting will be strong for the team.2027 Draft picks 1, 2, 2, 3, 4, 4, 5, 5, 5, 6, 6 - With eleven picks and the youngest most talented defense in the league Howie can turn his attention towards getting young studs at key positions like WR, RB, TEHope you enjoyed!
