the blame’s a two-way mirror—coaches and players both in the reflection.

the team’s got to figure it out before the glass cracks.

100% this! It isn’t one player, it isn’t one coach, it is everyone and they all need to get it together. If they do then we know what this team can achieve.

You seem to contradict yourself from the first bolded sentence to the very next.

If we go from being a "generation team' to "better than average" that does indeed point to a drop off in talent.

However, I do think we have enough talent on this team that we should be looking better than we have (not only in the loss last weekend but in the wins in the weeks leading up to it). Far too many stupid penalties, communication issues, and just overall mental mistakes for a team that just won it all to be making.

What I was trying to say is yes our lines are not as before, but far from the End of the world that some people are trying to make it out to be. In fact we are still pretty good, but the lines have to jell , mistakes have to be fixed, and coaches have to adjust and call better plays. Stick with the run plays would be a welcome change. We have several easy games ahead to win and build more confidence. Possibly let some players heal, so that they are fresh in the second half of the season.
