But Latin America as a whole uses the same language. Slang and accents make it kinda weird between countries. Chile and Argentina are kinda bonkers with how they speak. But I don't think there's a crazy gap between Mexico and most of Latin America...at least not much wilder than the US vs Australia, New Zealand, etc.

Spain, Mexico, South American, …?In school we learned the King's Spanish, even though in the Americas only the east side of South America uses the vos framework. From a listening and hearing it standpoint, more Mexico/Central America. Accent wise Colombians are the easiest for me to understand.FWIW my native speaking friends tell me that when I speak Spanish I sound like Buzz Lightyear in Toy Story 2.

I always thought the rest was mainly accent differences.

My playlist has anywhere from Jonny Cash to Snoop Dog. I have some DAX, NF, Dre, Eminem, Andrea Brocelli, Rush, AC/DC, Hollywood Undead, Cyprus Hill, etc. While I wouldn’t mind some Bad Bunny bouncing with my girl at the club, he’s not on my playlist. I watched the halftime show and thought it was a very entertaining performance.I’m not really big on pop music, though Taylor Swift is a great songwriter and has some catchy tunes, she’s not not on my playlist either.Without giving it to much thought, on a daily basis you would here Dre, Snoop, Redman, Tool, Boston, Dire Straits, Outkast, the Foo, Soundgarden, CCR, SOAD and Iron Maiden if you walked into my office. I have been on a Redman/Method Man thing lately, listened to all their albums consecutively last week.Depending on the playlist, you could walk in and here some Waylon, and possibly even Gene Pitney the man who shot liberty valance.

Especially Cubans. I think it's the speed they talk. Trying to understand their Spanish I feel like Billy Madison.

Only times I've run into slangs I just couldn't make out were some kids in Puebla Mexico (spanish) and that Liverpool cockney (english)

The whole internet this morning is full of people posting about "Yeah I'm from Mexico/Colombia/whatever" and I don't know what the hell he's saying. I spent 2025 in Colombia, but now that I'm back in NYC, whatever Spanish I thought I knew is struggling vs Puerto Rican accents.

I was entertained at halftime of a very boring game, and that's all I can really ask for.I really, really enjoyed Green Day as the opening act. Musically, that's more my speed.it probably would have helped though, i spent the whole performance trying to figure out what the hell was going on. i keep seeing that those things were the obvious message, but i didnt get anything out of it other than it was funny when the dancers were dressed as linemen "working the poles"
