This season sure feels a whole lot like 2023 where we were winning early and got off to a great record (even though many of those wins didn't look pretty and really could have gone either way) and then the wheels completely fell off. The biggest difference is this is happening much earlier this year. There is entirely too much talent on offense for this team to be getting completely shut down for entire halves like they are this year, injuries or not. And the defense most definitely has regressed ... can't get pressure on the CB, can't stop the run, etc.

I don't think it is a given this season ends in similar fashion ... they have plenty of time to turn this thing around. We thought the same late 2023 and it never happened. Will having gone through this before help this time?? Time will tell. What is your level of optimism it will? Mine ... 30%.

Defense doesn't seem to play well when Carter is gone (week 1)

Didn't know it's completely fall apart when Mitchell is gone too

Oline being banged up has been a problem since the beginning. Don't know if it's from the 2k rushing last year and they never really got time to rest or what

In the 4th qtr after the INT and giants score the eagles had the ball on like the 10 and hurts runs out of the pocket to his right behind the LOS and all 5 O lineman completely stop and just stand, a couple of em turn to watch hurts but dont move there feet or arms just all 5 stand there doing nothing blocking no one, it kind of looked like they thought the olay was dead but all the defenders were still running, not one of them thought hey I should go make sure no one touches my qb, no one cared, and thats how this whole team feels right now, theres no urgency, theres no passion, they all just walk around the field looking like they cant wait to be doing anything else but play football, maybe it was just 1 game and they were tired and banged up but this team as is seems at least on O arent playing for anyone but thenselves.☹️

Id say 30% is about right. Im not optimistic they turn it around

On offense the pass:run ratio is way off (again). Last night ... 13 carries (by RBs) to 33 passes. Against Denver, 9 carries (by RBs) to 38 passes. The identity of this team is to RUN THE F%$%#ING BALL and to shut down the run on defense. So far we can't do both. Don't know why Patullo is purposely trying to move away from our winning formula. For Saquon to have ONE run last weekend in the 2nd half when up double digits is criminal.

Less regressed, more injured AF and already lost talent. Their depth was thin because they had to shed pieces for future contracts and to make sure Hurts' offensive personnel was flawless. Unfortunately said flawless personal didn't end up flawless, but also became injured too. We were very healthy last year, very few injures.

Nolan Smith is hurt
Jalen Carter is hurt
Nakobe Dean was already hurt
Baun got banged up before
Blankenship got injured
Jackson despite not being good got injured

Slay is gone
Milton Williams is gone
Rodgers is gone

They were a secondary strong team, meaning that the secondary made the pressure last year towards the end look better because they could hold their coverage so long across the board. Now, they are trying to make up for that with Q shadowing and Ringo playing 2, but that removed the safety blanket which allowed for the DL to work.

These things were moved with the goal of Hurts and the offense being able to make up for it by keeping their pieces immaculate. Of which are not performing super well and/or are getting injured too. Hence how we got in the hole that we got into. The defense last year was what was winning us games, and we sacrificed that for an offense that isn't working at all.

O-line is tired, injured & old in lane’s case. There really isn’t any way to fix that…not this season.

Usually you hope a team can turn it around. I just don't believe this one can. Howie really Fedd the team this year.

Thats the mistake right there. The defense carried the team last year and would always find a way to make play when the team needed it. The offense even last year wasn't really working from a passing perspective. This is complete ignorance on their part if they were relying on the passing game this year to pick up the slack. Way too much cap space tied up on the offensive side of the ball.

Vibes of 2023 is what everyone has to be thinking...even before now...but definitely now. Some sad truths have surfaced...
Dickerson and Jurgens are apparently not fully recovered from last season and it shows. Steen is a slight downgrade to Becton. Lane is another year older and his injury stuff is creeping back in. Mailata isn't playing as well.

The losses on defense have taken a toll. Ojomo isn't what we hoped, Carter isn't even playing as well, Davis is Davis, Smith just can't stay healthy, Hunt isn't ready to be a FT Edge, Ringo and Jackson are hot garbage.

We get a few injuries and things look like they looked...when they weren't even looking that great WITH all the starters.

And the fact that the offense looks like this again with yet another in-house hire by Siri isn't a coincidence. If this year goes badly, it'll be the last time Siri chooses his OC. Next year will be yet another "Hurts has his 100th OC" crap, etc.

This is the worst lineup the Eagles put out there since early 2024 or 2023. They have plenty of time to get things right. The defense is much slimmer than it was last year. They were loaded last season and got lucky with injuries. Losing Jalen Carter before the game and Quinyon Mitchell early really hurt them. They had to dig deep. The Giants threw everything they had at them. The Eagles defense just couldn't stop it. I thought the Eagles offense was moving pretty well until they got behind and abandoned any semblance of a running game. The Eagles are playing their best when they dominate the LOS. I thought the Giants did a good job of playing the Eagles' style against them.

The Eagles have 10 days to lick their wounds. I am hoping Carter, Mitchell, Dean et. al. are back sooner than later. They will be better when they have all the pieces back. Long term it is probably better they didn't exacerbate anything on the MetLife turf.

Optomism level is at a 0 now. There isn't going to be a repeat, and if by chance we win enough to earn the NFL's revenue seed, it's likely one and done in Tampa again. That seems to be our thing in odd numbered Sirianni years.

Year 1: experienced OC helps lead team to SB - gets poached in offseason

Year 2: promote inexperienced coach from within to OC - offense looks like 💩

Year 3: experienced OC helps lead team to SB - gets poached in offseason

Year 4: promote inexperienced coach from within to OC - offense looks like 💩

Lather ... rinse ... repeat

This is 2023 on steroids. The injury bug and mailase hit in October - not after a 10-1 record. I see no prospects for this team to turn things around in 2025 absent radical moves within the organization.

I didn't want to believe this team was shades of 2023... I was thinking even if they lose last night they would right the ship... That was until that performance and the way they lost. They are bad in so many areas. About the only thing I think can get better is maybe the defense. Even that is looking not so promising

Siri will not be allowed to hire his own Coordinators going forward. I'll assume that they didn't have the necessary time to vet out other OCs, so they just said screw it, let's promote from within.

This is a bit premature, but, if this season goes downhill fast, he may be on the hot seat. I mean, this Org pretty much fired Doug P like 2 years after he won them their 1st SB?

I didn't think, prior to the season, for 1 second, that they could repeat as SB champs. And I'm ok with that. 🤓

I think the Becton loss hurt us more than expected, Steen hasn’t been impressive. The entire line looks weak.

Injuries are mounting -- that's the kiss of death in the NFL as every team has talent, so once you start losing your talented guys, it doesn't take much for healthier teams to surpass you from a quality of players on the field perspective.

I said it as soon as they announced Patullo- it's going to be 2023 all over again. What KILLS me is they didn't learn the lesson of Brian Johnson. How do you NOT learn that lesson? You MUST hire an EXPERIENCED OC or DC. You don't hire trainee's.

The offense is a very basic high school offense which is what it was in 2023. I think we ran about 5 plays that year and we are running ten this year soooo yay? The failure to get AJ involved is well documented, but Saquan's touches have been cut in half from what they were. Why are we not drawing up plays for our two best weapons? Why is AJ Dillon getting the ball in a crucial moment so he can fumble it away? Teams are dopping into zone coverage and we aren't able to beat it. That is terrible offensive coaching.

In 2023, did they have players who could catch a return a frickin' Kick Off? I can't quite remember.

Put Will Ship back there, or bring up Covey to return KO's!

4-13. Book it.

Nah, something will eventually click with this team, but not until they’re 100% healthy. In the meantime they need to weather the storm, figure out the offense, shake up their Def. and minimize their mistakes. A trade may help, but at what cost?

If Im being honest, a record of 8-9 at worst, or 10-6 at best is the reality.

EVERYONE knows (NFL TEAMS being everyone) what's coming, run or pass. This is EXACTLY like 2023.
