That number drops by 1 for every game Dallas loses (Captain Obvious in da house!).But in all honesty, even if we win the division, we are much more likely to get smoked in round 1 than we are to go on a roll and reach the big game.

Losing a close game is more likely to happen than getting smoked. But I do believe there's also a very good chance we win our final 4 regular season games (yes, even vs Buffalo) and will get a boost when we get a couple key guys back for the postseason. How we're playing at that point will be key. Based on Monday's performance, I understand the lack of confidence in this team. It's up to them to prove the doubters wrong --- something they just haven't done this season to date.

It's up to them to prove the doubters wrong --- something they just haven't done this season to date. This isn’t just based on Monday. This has been a season long issue of not putting a solid 4 quarters together, 2nd Giants game aside. It was the same in 2023, they couldn’t put a solid 4 quarters together. People said the same things then. It doesn’t matter. You win, and move on. You win, and move on. They were winning, until they weren’t. Same thing now, we were winning, and now we’re not. And just like then, Dallas is nipping at our heels, and where earlier in the season, we could feel good about not being turnover prone, we’ve now committed 9 in 3 games, and we can’t score or consistently sustain drives for crap. The defense can still be very good, but even they will break down due to the lack of complementary football. And there is no sign any of it is changing for the better anytime soon.

December 11, 2025Dec 11 The only good thing is that our defense is pretty solid, so hopefully they can continue playing well to keep us in games. I think the team will go 3-1, but they could go 4-0 in the final stretch. BUF has a bad run defense, and maybe our defense gets after Allen and we win a close one. WSH and LV should be easy wins as long as the offense doesn't turn the ball over, and our defense doesn't have a repeat of the CHI game. All that said, I don't see DAL winning out at all. I think they'll go 2-2 and essentially take themselves out of the mix

It's up to them to prove the doubters wrong --- something they just haven't done this season to date. You could be right ... this year's defense is much better than 2023 - that unit could keep us in a closer game (but to clarify that point in my original point, I had said we'd be more likely to get smoked than reach the Super Bowl). As always, I remain hopeful (I'm just not very confident). We could get some reinforcements back on offense (like Lane Johnson), and of course he makes a difference, but the biggest obstacle is the play-calling. Seems all the talent we have on that side of the ball is having a difficult time overcoming that to function at the level they should be capable of.
December 12, 2025Dec 12 This season could end up like 2023, because right now this team seems to have lost some confidence especially on the offensive side of the ball and that seems to be mostly connected to the play of the offensive line in particular due to lingering injuries. There also seems to be a need to force or push Jalen into playing a style he’s not comfortable with playing. I’m not sure if this was done to finally force Jalen out of his comfort zone or if this is truly due to this run game being highly ineffective. Still this team has a lot of players coming up short this season on both sides of the ball. Gone are the big plays from the offense and this team can’t seem to stay out of third down and long. They can’t salt away wins like they did in the past with long drives. Jalen either can’t anymore or is unwilling to run anymore as effectively as he used to. Oh and the penalties! I mean there’s a lot to deal with when it comes to this team.

I mean there’s a lot to deal with when it comes to this team. That most definitely is a big factor and is limiting what the offense can do but the bigger issue IMO is the limitations of the play caller. We have capable enough backups on the OL where this thing should function at a higher level than what they have been showing. Keep trying to run it up the middle and hope for better results and when that doesn't work let's just abandon the run game. And overall we have enough talent on offense that this unit should be functioning at a higher level than it is even with the limitation in play calling ... it all boils down to focus and execution which is just not there (penalties, dropped passes, etc.). Mayfield made some comments after the Bucs loss last night that I think apply to us:Mayfield also was asked about coach Todd Bowles’s message to the team."He hit the nail on the head, saying and questioning does it mean anything to the guys?” Mayfield said. "Like, ‘Does this hurt enough for you to actually make changes. To come in, do the work that you need to do, to do the things that we need to do as a team to get better, fix these things and win ball games?’ And he repeated it, and it really is as simple as that. We have talent. Talent doesn’t get you crap though. Doing the work and executing on game days does, and that’s — we didn’t do that today. Like I said, I did not do that.”Mayfield said it’s not an issue with preparation but execution. He also acknowledged the possibility that it’s a matter of concentration in crunch time.

This team is bogged down due to injuries, bad coaching, and trying to expect the quarterback to do and be someone he isn’t.
