Eagles injury update: Some good news to start Vikings week

Three key Eagles were participating in the early portion of Wednesday's practice as the Eagles prepare to face the Vikings.

There was some very good news as the Eagles kicked off their practice week on Wednesday.

Quinyon Mitchell (hamstring), Jalen Carter (heel) and Landon Dickerson (ankle) all participated in practice as the Eagles began to prepare for the Vikings.

Here's the full injury report:

DNP: TE Grant Calcaterra (oblique)

Limited: G Landon Dickerson (ankle), CB Quinyon Mitchell (hamstring)

Full: LB Zack Baun (finger), DT Jalen Carter (heel), DT Jordan Davis (shoulder)

Not only was Carter (heel) a full participant, but he also said after practice that he will play against the Vikings on Sunday after missing the Giants game in Week 6.

While those three were on the field with the rest of the team, backup tight end Grant Calcaterra (oblique) was working out with a trainer on a side field. So he is in line to perhaps miss a second straight game.

But it was obviously encouraging to see Mitchell, Carter and Dickerson on the field. They are three of the Eagles’ most important players and it would be a big boost to have them against the Vikings on Sunday.

Mitchell injured his hamstring in the first half against the Giants last Thursday and left the game after just 13 snaps. In his place, the Eagles were left with Cooper DeJean, Adoree’ Jackson and Kelee Ringo as their corners. The Eagles actually benched Ringo for Jackson in the first half but then needed both of them to play the rest of the game.

The Eagles on Sunday will face an offense that has Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison at receiver. So getting Mitchell back for this game would really help.

Carter missed the Giants game at MetLife Stadium with a heel injury. He went into Week 6 listed as questionable and was then inactive. Carter didn’t pop upon the injury report until last Wednesday. That was the second game he has missed this season after not playing in Week 1 when he was ejected before the first snap. In addition to the heel injury, Carter has been playing through a shoulder injury all season.

Dickerson suffered an ankle injury against the Broncos and missed the Giants game. He was replaced by veteran Brett Toth, who struggled against that Giants’ defensive front. Dickerson has dealt with a few injuries during the early portion of the 2025 season.

The Eagles filled their two vacant practice squad spots on Wednesday by signing TE Jaheim Bell and DE Titus Leo. They released WR Javon Baker and RB Audric Estime from the practice squad on Tuesday.

They still have one vacant spot on their 53-man roster after placing DE Za’Darius Smith on the reserve/retired list earlier this week.

Here's a look at the Vikings' injury situation:
