What would it be?

For me the #1 issue right now is the predictable play calling.

Because of that, we can't run the ball.

Because we can't run the ball, the offense can't sustain drives.

Because we can't sustain drives, the defense has to work too hard and gets tired.

Because the defense gets tired...well you get it.

We have no identity right now and that starts with running the ball.

Offensive play-calling for me. And I'd probably let the other RB's get more touches.

Less trying to force certain statistical outcomes to happen. The law of averages will eventually even things out if everybody just does what the play requires them to do. Sustaining drives will provide more touches for everybody on offense.

But one instant fix I would do right now is elevate Covey and have him be the return specialist. I've seen him provide us with a spark before and believe he could still do that. Better average starting field position can only help this team. How bad is it? We are currently ranked 32nd in the league in average starting field position.

There is not one thing that is wrong. It is a multitude of chronic problems that came calling

Hurts...is good at some things but not at most things

Trainers are not Teaching..they suit whatever they know to suit Hurts

Injuries and old age are unavoidable at all positions

Tremendous Overvaluation of existing talent by the Eagles

Getting rid of most backup depth.....

If there was one thing that I could have changed...I would have slept the management silly last season and said NO you will not destroy the 2024 defense..until you have more time to evaluate the youth.

I would have made them resign most players they let go on defense. Even if it costs them possibly re-signing Jalen Carter in the future, or AJ, or any other high paying players. I am advocating a more balanced distribution of money from offense to defense. Vic is a great coach, but defense is so devoid of depth..it is ridiculous. CBs suck. DEs make no pressure. Safeties are a ??? Carter is missing in action and overweight this season. Not the dominant force worth resigning to big money.

Lots of problems. Possibly no fixes until 2026. But even that is questionable.

Pass rush, for me. Abysmal so far. No one productive, no depth, hardly ant involvement whatsoever. The Secondary has a BFF, and it's called a Pass Rush.

At this rate with how mediocre Carter is playing, is Howie even going to spend huge bucks on him?

All of the above but that’s asking a lot. How a Super Bowl winning team can fall so fast is insane.

Gotta fix the run game. I think that goes hand in hand with the O line. They just aren’t playing well up front. Whether it’s blocking schemes or injuries, or Both, it needs to get fixed. You won’t win many games in Nov and Dec and especially post season if you can’t run the ball. My theory is that teams are run blitzing more frequently to stop Barkley and it’s working, but the line has to make better calls and adjustments on the blocking schemes and "sight reads” before the snap. Cam was out and as much as he earned from Kelce, he still has plenty to learn with the assignments. And the guards have just been brutal. Lane and Jordan can’t do much more than they have been. Hopefully they get healthy nearing or soon after the bye cuz I think a lot of it is health related. Knees, necks, backs, they’re all fighting something.

We’re stuck between a rock and a hard place with Carter. He’s not playing to his potential but the D is a train wreck without him. If we let him walk, someone else will pay him and we’ll be worse off.

I think Howie is going to fix CB2. And the pass rush has a chance to fix itself.

So if I could fix one thing, I'd choose the OL and running game, because I don't think that otherwise has a path to improvement on its own.

I realize that's not exactly the spirit of the question, but that's the one that I suspect won't get fixed and needs to.

In the offseason, Carter was being compared to Aaron Donald and many suggested his extension would be one of those once every 3 years contracts that is the new most expensive contract for a defensive player in NFL history. Both of those things are definitively off the table and not happening this offseason. They may try to extend him and it'll still cost a pretty penny, but he's not going to command anything near that unless he plays out 2026 without a new deal and crushes it.

I don’t want to lose him but I’m sure he’s going to be looking for a Parsons-type contract. I think at that point you have to evaluate whether it’s worth losing 2-3 really good players to sign one guy.

The offensive line is probably number one especially with run blocking, but the pass blocking has been crappy too. The lines offensively and defensively have been a major issue especially with these corners not named DeJean and Mitchell.

I agree. Do you want to invest 40 mil a year in him? I would listen to offers for him after the season. It's a cap league and that has to be a huge consideration with the numbers needed to extend him.

Steen is a good pass blocker but he is an OT playing out of position. His run blocking is poor and that's what you need at OG, especially at the right guard position.

Healthy Oline. They haven't been able to create the holes for Barkley

You missed this one- The RUN GAME starts working. THAT will save the season.

Kind of crazy to say something is saving a season when the team is 5-2.

Not to mention the run game being better is literally the first option on the poll lol.

Yeah, true- but I get where he is coming from.

The trenches are where the games are won. It's a fact. Therefore, it isn't surprising most of us want to the Oline/running game fixed. Saquon may not get 800 yards this season. Behind this line? That is wretched. Also the Oline/rg getting fixed would affect the overall offense and team.

If it's only 1 thing...O-line for me. If they are playing at the top of their game, the run game works and pass protection improves. To me it looks like 85% of called runs are inside zone runs behind an interior O-line that cannot successfully run block. It's madness, and yet they just keep doing it over and over. All RB's including Saquon are best in space. There isn't any space inside right now, only tackles for loss. I'm convinced that fixing the O-line and calling a bit more outside zone would help a lot. I don't know what Howie can do at this point but the off-season mission is clear to me. Fix the O-line.
