Posted Monday at 07:02 PM2 days Eagles grades by position after blowout win over GiantsHere are our Eagles grades by position after their 38-20 win over the Giants in Week 8.By Dave Zangaro • Published October 26, 2025Now THAT was the complete performance we have been waiting to see from the Eagles all season. After getting embarrassed by the Giants a couple weeks ago in North Jersey, the Eagles absolutely dominated their division rival at the Linc on Sunday, winning 38-20 and emptying the bench at the end.The Eagles are 6-2 going into their bye week. Here are the grades by position after their best win of the season:QuarterbackJalen Hurts: 15/20, 179 yards, 4 TDs, 141.5 passer ratingA week after Hurts threw for over 300 yards in Minnesota, he was incredibly efficient against the Giants and threw four touchdown passes for just the third time in his NFL career. He’s just the third Eagles QB ever to have back-to-back games with a passer rating of 140+, joining Nick Foles and Randall Cunningham. Hurts did take some sacks in this game but was mostly in complete control and is playing extremely well. In the last two weeks, Hurts has thrown 7 touchdowns without an interception.Grade: ARunning backSaquon Barkley: 14 carries, 150 yards, 1 TDThe Eagles’ running game came alive on Sunday as they went for 276 yards on the ground. It started when Barkley took his first carry of the game 65 yards to the house. He went over 100 yards for the first time all season and he wasn’t alone. Tank Bigsby, who had just one carry for 11 yards with the Eagles entering Sunday, ended up with 9 carries for 104 yards. Both Barkley and Bigsby averaged over 10.0 yards per carry. This was the first game the Eagles had two running backs with 100+ rushing yards since LeSean McCoy and Bryce Brown did it in Week 16 of the 2013 season.Grade: A+ReceiverDeVonta Smith: 9 targets, 6 catches, 84 yardsDon’t get it twisted: The Eagles obviously missed A.J. Brown (hamstring) in this game. But the other receivers played well. That starts with Smith, who followed up his career game against the Vikings with a 6-catch, 84-yard performance. Ho hum. Jahan Dotson had a 40-yard jump-ball touchdown before fighting his way into the end zone. Xavier Gipson got involved with a 3-yard pickup on an end-around pitch play. Darius Cooper didn’t technically get a target in this game but did draw a DPI to move the sticks. The Giants were eventually down three starters in their secondary and the Eagles took advantage.Grade: A-Tight endDallas Goedert: 3 targets, 3 catches, 28 yards, 2 TDsIn his eighth NFL season, Goedert has become a huge threat in the red zone. His previous career high in touchdowns in a season came in 2019 with 5 but he already has 7 at the bye week this year. His first was an impressive effort to get into the end zone. A good showing from Goedert on National Tight End Day.Grade: AOffensive lineThe offensive line did a masterful job against a very good Giants defensive line on Sunday. They blocked for all those rushing yards. Give a ton of credit to Brett Toth, who filled in for Cam Jurgens at center and played much better than he did in spot duty against the Vikings in Week 7. Toth was able to reach some key blocks to spring big runs. Sure, Jalen Hurts took some sacks but the offensive line mostly held up in pass protection during this game. The Eagles also used Fred Johnson in their jumbo personnel package on 10 of 57 plays and gained 114 rushing yards and a TD from that package, per NextGen Stats.Grade: ADefensive lineJalyx Hunt: 1 sack, 4 tackles, 9 pressuresTwo weeks ago, Jaxson Dart and Cam Skattebo were able to run all over the Eagles. That didn’t happen in this game. In fact, the Eagles held the Giants to just 3.2 yards per rushing attempt and sacked Dart five times in the win. Four different linemen — Hunt, Moro Ojomo, Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis — got a sack in this game. They nearly got a strip-sack from Josh Uche but it was reversed and called an incompletion by replay. Hunt had his best performance of the season and cleaned up after Patrick Johnson pressured Dart.Grade: ALinebackerZack Baun: 6 tackles, 1 sack, 2 TFLs, 2 PBUsNo shocker, but Baun again filled up the stat sheet. He was one of the players upset by the lack of physicality a couple weeks ago in North Jersey but he helped get things back on track in this one. Nakobe Dean played 33 of 45 snaps, while Jihaad Campbell played many of his snaps as an edge rusher. It’ll be interesting to see how Vic Fangio utilizes these three coming back from the bye week. Dean played well and brought some physicality but did get beat by Devin Singletary down the field for a 28-yard gain.Grade: A-SecondaryCooper DeJean: 5 tackles, 1 TFLThe Eagles’ defensive line was able to get after Dart in this game but a big reason for that is how well the secondary was covering behind them. Their zone coverage made Dart hold on to the football. Quinyon Mitchell was targeted just once on 27 coverage snaps and didn’t give up a catch, per NextGen Stats. Mitchell gave up a deep touchdown on the field but it was called back for OPI. Kelee Ringo held up very well opposite Mitchell and was barely targeted in this game.Grade: ASpecial teamsWill Shipley: 3 kick returns, 99 yards, long of 41Shipley showed some real juice as a kick returner in this game. He had really good returns of 41 and 32 yards that gave the Eagles short fields on touchdown drives. Braden Mann had just one punt but it was a 57-yarder to flip the field and he booted it from the Eagles’ end zone. Jake Elliott did miss a 58-yarder off the right upright but there was apparently a whistle on the field before the kick, which might have thrown him off. Grade: A-CoachingRecord: 6-2The Eagles finally put together their most complete game of the season. On offense, this was the most variety we have seen all year and the best offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo has looked all season. Patullo was in his bag for this one and if that was a glimpse of what’s to come for this offense, that is extremely encouraging. The Eagles did struggle on a few third downs, but Vic Fangio called a good game and the Eagles were again good in the red zone. Nick Sirianni won his 60th game (including playoffs), tying Dick Vermeil for third on the Eagles’ all-time wins list.Grade: A+https://www.nbcsportsphiladelphia.com/nfl/philadelphia-eagles/eagles-grades-by-position-after-blowout-win-over-giants/692344/
Yesterday at 05:30 AM1 day Just an all around good performance finally by this team. They played well in both halves, they played complementary football and that was their best game so far this season.Still work to be done though. They gave up too many 3rd and longs to NY. Jalen took some big sacks. They did what good teams do… they beat up on a bad and a hurt team. They got ahead, they didn’t let up and they put the game out of sight with time to go in the game. That’s what good teams do.Now time to get healthy, rest up and get ready for 2 and a half hard games after the bye.
