Urm - he’s been pretty bad this year and it’s quite a big contract.

Hopefully Fangio can make it work. Looks like DeJean is moving outside

Good move by Howie

Why would you think that DeJean is moving outside because of this trade - because of the John Clark tweet? It's a depth move at best. No way is this guy in line to become a starter. He is, however, a nice piece to have if DeJean goes down.

Have you seen his contract we are taking on? Unless he has already agreed to a pay cut he will be our starting nickel.

He is costing us a little over $2m and won’t be back next year on his current deal. It either gets renegotiated or he’s cut

Why do you worry about the money?…one, if Howe pulls this trade he ain’t worried…and two, the money in his contract might be part of the deal…

Boooooooo!!!!!! Booooo!!!!

Might work, might not, but Howie surely has done enough to earn our trust. He's not given up a ton, and he is doing his best to put the team in the best possible place. It's not a blockbuster but is Classic Howie seeking out the value.

Gut feel is I don’t like it. I mean we haven’t given up much to get him so there’s that but it doesn’t really move the needle much. We needed to trade for a CB who could be a good solid CB2… I’m not really sure this guy is that.

I don't know much about him hope he works out for us

Ehhhh

So does this mean we can waive him with no cap hit next year?

Nope. With his mid-season trade history, he hasn't earned my trust. As his moves have stunk for the vast majority of the time, during this time of the season.

Not totally his fault, of course. As it's difficult to get quality players at this point.

Meh, not so sure about that.

I think this is mostly just turnover of bottom of the roster pieces to add depth in the defensive backfield. Maybe Darius Cooper coming off IR made Metchie expendable.

I get Howie's in season record isn't stellar, but Metchie wasn't going to do ish for us, may as well shuffle the pack. That's why I am content.

Sauce has been bad this year, are you saying he’s a bad corner? Team success/scheme makes a difference.

Ummm...I kind of like a slowly improving and figuring it out Ringo more than this guy.

Another mediocre body at cornerback nothing to see here.

We originally dealt a 2026 5th (and TE Harrison Bryant) to Houston for Metchie (and a 2026 6th).

We now deal Metchie (and a 2027 6th) to the Jets for Carter (and a 2027 7th).

So basically:

LOST:

TE Harrison Bryant

2026 5th

2027 6th

GAINED:

CB Michael Carter

2026 6th

2027 7th

I think cooper did a good job would like to see him get some passes thrown his way.. I think he did have one where Dpi was called.. but it did look like he was decent at blocking.

Yeah, will end up costing a touch over $2m to our cap, split across this year and next year.

No way he sees his salary next year - if we want him back, will be a renegotiation to a lower number than he is currently scheduled to get

Howie solved a problem today and can still sign AS Jr if needed.
