Posted October 30, 2025Oct 30 With the passing of Pierre Robert, it reminded me that most of the local media members who I considered "Philadelphia Institutions" are now dead or retired.While there are still a few still around (Preston and Steve, Ukee Washington, Rick Williams, Michael Barkann, Cecily Tynan) it seems like things are changing so much with modern media that we probably won't see a future generation that compares to people like Jim Gardner, Pierre Robert, Dave Roberts, John DeBella, etc.)Honestly, I don't think I can name more than 2-3 local news, radio or media personality who has less than a 15-20 year career in this city.
